Hey dawg,
would love to read that letter. If you can post it here for us to review, maybe we can pass it alone!!

i recently wrote a letter to every family member i could find an address to which exposed the wt org as the group of fools they actually are!
interesting thing is that not one letter was sent to my home congregation by anyone and the letter circulated to almost every family member i have; so instead of turning me in as i suspected they would do, they are talking about it openly and distributing it to all family members-even ones i couldn't find an address to.
i'm winning this war!

ok, so i have another thing to chalk up to the watchtower.
this weekend my dad told my husband that my mother actually asked my dad to divorce her because she didn't want to be married to an unbeliever and he wasn't going to get baptized.
not so much the story my mom told me all those years ago..... .
I may be wrong, but my understanding is that unless he/she can prove adultry there can be no scriptural divorce. I've been out for 20+ years so maybe things have changed.
Is your dad unhappy in the marraige or is your mom just making demands and giving ultimatum's (sp?)???
Sorry you are going through this, this cult has damaged sooo many people and lives!!!

Welcome to JWD!!!

i don't know how you feel but i am pleased to be part of a community that cares about fellow members.
although we may not know individuals in person, we get a "sense" of many of our fellow posters especially if we have been here for any length of time.. several of our fellow posters have experienced terrible tragedies that result in financial nightmares.
i don't know how all of you feel, but i would rather give directly to someone in need than through a charity.
I agree that the support given here at JWD is awesome, most of the support is emotional support, advise and just relating to someone else's current problem.
I think if anyone is in need and we are able to help financially or even help someone in need of clothing, food, a place to lay their head, babysitting, help finding employment if in our area is a good idea.

sorry for the edit.
this may have been a topic before.. i got the idea for this from crumpets thread "if i could make your dreams come true what would they be?".
i have been asked many times "if i could go back in my life and change it, what would i do?
I would go back to age 13 and not get baptized, I'd take my chances on my dad putting me out of the house for not being baptized!

my sister-in-law tried to take her life this afternoon.
it still remains to be seen if she makes it through or not.
though a witness, she's had many bad experiences in life.
golf2,
I'm soo sorry about your sister-in-law, you and your family are in my thoughts!!

i had no internet service for the last 36 hours, and it drove me nuts.. that made me realize how addicted most of us are to the internet.. so, in the last year, what's the longest you've been without going on the internet?.
I don't have a computer at home, so once I leave work, it's severe withdrawal!!!

last week i finished up grad school (master's degree).
i'm currently gainfully unemployed and my student health insurance runs out the first of august.. i've been to the doc so many times the last couple of weeks (sigh).
the first batch was relatively minor...i had a big splinter in my hand that the docs didn't find right away...3 visits, 2 courses of antibiotics and 2 in-office minor surgeries later, they *finally* got it out.
((((((((((((((asleif)))))))))))))
I know this is easier said than done - but, try not to panic until they have a definate diagnosis. The lumps may be benign or fatty tumors, but there is no way to know until a biopsy has been done.
So, take slow deep breaths, try to be positive until you know for sure.
Sending hugs and positive vibes your way!!!!

Congrats on your masters!!!
