I have spoke once to my parents..
by mrsjones5 inin the last year.
some of you may remember a little bit of what happened last year when my family and i went to visit my parents - big fiasco, cops were called and we were thrown out - so i just had no desire to have any interaction with my parental units.
i don't call, they've called a few times to speak to the kids (they called it checking on them like i'm some deranged person).

by XBEHERE inin all the years that you were an active jw did: 1. going out in the ministry when you were down or felt depressed every make you forget your problems and cause you to feel better?
2. going to meetings when you had to rush around and practically yell and scream at your husband/wife/kids to get there ever cause you to feel better that you went instead of staying home to relax?
these are the top two elder solutions to jw problems.

Wife and kids left me
by thepackage inlong story short, (i'll post it later), after many years of problems with the wts my wife and kids left me and she has filed for divorce (no adultery was committed).
feeling really sad right now.
i was a great husband and father, however, i could not take the thought of going to any more meetings and have over the last year started to find was to avoid meetings.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife and kids.
What's up with so many in this org getting divorced? what happend to adultery only? My good friend, has been divorced x 2, his first wife fooled around on him, second wife he married because she was "very theocratic" (whatever), she left him for about 8 years and just recently sent the divorce papers, no grounds at all just irreconsilable differences (sp?).
Are they allowing this type of divorce now? I guess they are no better than other people after all, huh?

I had been out of the cult for 20+ years when I found JWD, most days I post, some days I just read, on the days I can't get to a computer I wonder who's on, if anyone is having a crises, any good news so I guess I'm addicted. I think letting a thing like an internet discussion board get the best of you is something each and everyone has control over.

"You don't return my phone calls!"
by zack inok. so what is the story about people getting upset with others because their phone calls are not returned?
i know that sometimes i don't return calls, but i also know that sometimes people just call to chat, gossip, bitch, and overall waste my time and add to my stress level.
second, i beleive this complaint is self centered: you didn't return my phone call.

I try really hard to treat people the way I want to be treated. So if I call someone, say a friend just to chit chat and get their voice mail, I leave a message. As a friend I expect that person to call me back at their convience as I would call my friend back. If my brother, sister, even my pain in the A** mother and father happen to call or I call them, it's just common courtesy to return the call.
IMHO - If you don't want people to call you, don't get a phone or at least don't give out the number. You could always just say, I don't like to talk, so please only call me in an emergency.

WOW, this brought back memories of sitting at Yankee Stadium and the Meadowlands for those boring conventions!!! Thank godness I don't have to endure that anymore.
