I have been thinking about this for a while

the faithful and discreet slave.

That is one of their favourite expressions. There are a couple of definitions in my dictionary for slave. (1) 'person who is the legal property of another or others and is bound to absolute obedience, human chattel' (2) 'helpless victim to or of some dominating influence, drudge, person having no leisure'.

IMO, neither definition fits the WTS, but, rather it fits the R&F.

So who really is the faithful and discreet slave????

My Mother's Letter

i recently got this letter from my mother, i thought i would share it to help see how this saga continues.

my parents are both regular pioneering as we speak.

have seen their grandchildren for about an hour in the last six months.

Hi SL. I can see that your mother is hurting,and is under stress. That can cause physical symptons. But does she know that you know about the child abuse, or does she think you heard about it from apostates? If she thinks you are acting only on hearsay from apostates, it is one thing, because she is still under the mind control. But if she knows that you are acting on knowledge, then I cannot understand at all, because, surely, she knows that you would not make it up.

I cannot imagine why she has only seen her grandchildren for one hour in six months. Seeing them would help to ease her pain, because grandchildren bring great joy.

Consider next the situation of when one mate, for example the husband, takes matters farther than a separation and gets a divorce. A faithful Christian wife who later learned that (before or after divorcing her) he had been morally unfaithful could remarry, considering her former marriage ended both legally and in the eyes of Jehovah God. On the other hand, if there was a legal divorce but no adultery, the divorce would not of itself end the marriage in God's view, for the Bible shows that immorality by one's mate is the only valid basis for a divorce.-Matthew 19:6, 9

That seems fairly clear to me.

Let's think about it. If you are the victim of injustice caused by someones wrong opinion you should respect their opinions. If it bothers you, you are the one causing yourself to feel rejected.

It is not Christian to disregard what others think, but it is wrong to take any notice of it.

i've been reading this board with great enthusiasm for a few weeks now.

i must say i am so impressed by the depth and breadth of experiences all of you are sharing.

Hello Kathy, welcome. From the comments already made, you probably realise that the subject of the trinity is open to disagreement. One thing that bible students are taught early in the study is that it is people who care about them who will try to stop them from studying with JWs. Then they are told that the only way to help their loved ones is to stick with it, and help their loved ones to get everlasting life. The Watchtower Society is very good at playing on emotions.

One thing you might try, though, is the site of ajwrb (Associated Jehovah's Witness for the Reform of Blood). It was set up by concerned Jehovh's Witnesses, including elders. This may help, because it shows how the Society has changed its views on blood. These are links to the site

Another Elder is toast

after 29 years i am officially no longer serving as an elder.

those who knew i was still serving would only be surprised that i took so long.

Jst2laws, thank you for telling us your story. The WTBTS is losing the people it can least afford to lose. I have heard of caring compassionate elders recently. It is only since I came to this board, however, that I discovered why the number of caring elders in the congregations has fallen so drastically.
You said

As to your concern to not “let others bring you in a bad situation you are unable to control” this mess with the CO may not be over yet. I will try to be cautious.

I do hope that things turn out well for you.

My heart goes out to you. It must be so very hard to still have to be part of the organisation, knowing what you do and trying not to say too much.

I wish you well in your future, and good luck with trying to get your family out completely.

I getting bored with this Board

i'm just wondering if it is because i have changed and have gained my freedom from the watchtower enslavement or i just don't care anymore or is it that i have been exposed to too much of the same old complaints about the borg and all the false prophecies and the lies?.

i must admit i still get pleasure from reports of the watchtower walls starting to crumble al over the civilized world so i guess i'll continue to pop in from time to time.. as far as trying to de-program and rescue the poor unfortunate brainnumbed watchtower slaves, i think it's a total waste of time after all how do get through to people who prefer to believe in the lies when they know they are lies but they just don't want to see the real truth about the "truth(tm)".

i gues they don't want to see the real truth because it would force them to start thinking for them selves again and for some people that is just too much of a burden to bear.

If you really believe that, I can understand how you feel.

However, if that is true, how come there are so many leaving the Borg?

Maybe it is not that people want to believe the lies, but they are so brainwashed that it takes a lot to help them to find the real truth. Maybe they fear having nowhere to go, being out in the cold and alone? There are many possible reasons for people to stay with what they know until they find something better.

Just a couple of thoughts from someone who has only recently discovered that the WTS is a fraud.
