tell me you thoughts, good and bad abouut this area- culture, weather, geography, topography???.
Just a word of caution from the geologist. If you are living near the Mississippi River, make your choice of where to live with a topographic map in hand. Remember 1993???
Even a few extra feet of elevation can mean the difference between getting wiped out and just wiping your feet.

Wisconsin is a beautiful state, althought the winter weather can be pretty brutal.
I used to work on world class yachts and there are 2 of the best yacht manufacturers in the world in Sturgeon Bay (Door County). Some of my clients had yachts built at Palmer-Johnson, so I used to travel back and forth from Florida to work on the boats.
While I was there I used to go out and explore the local area and also got to go fishing with some of the ship wrights I got to know.
Potawatamee (sp?) State Park is in Door County and there is an outcrop of the Niagara Escarpment that is pretty impressive. Sturgeon Bay was settled predominantly by Belgians so in July they have a big Belgian celebration, complete with fish boils (yum...some of the best food I've ever had), parades, fireworks, etc.
If you get a chance to check out Door County you'll definitely have a great time.

The situation Flipper has related shouldn't surprise any of us, given the BORG's instructions to elders about how to handle pedophile cases--all that crap about calling the society and the police from a pay phone to maintain anonymity...insisting on 2 witnesses, making a terrorized child confront their molester...and on and on and on.....
Elsewhere has it spot on--the sister should alert everyone to the problem. Better yet, she should alert everyone to the problem and then find another religion.

It is pretty disappointing that these guys can't just do what they are supposed to do. What are they thinking anyway? Do they think that they will get around to it later and that when they do there will somehow be new circumstances that will allow them to pay less?
I would like to know what their thought process is that makes them think that not paying is a legitimate choice in the list of options.

That is really pathetic.
Remember the Babylon and Finished Mystery books? You at least needed a dictionary close by when you were studying for the Book Study. Even though they were filled with B.S. at least the writing was somewhat advanced.
Nowadays, how do they possibly maintain the interest of the readers/attendees???

Another idea about "Field Service" TM the BORG tried to promote was that it is a "volunteer" work...as if to elevate it to the level of real volunteer work...as if it were in some way of equal value to the work of the Salvation Army, of Habitat for Humanity.
I mean give me a frikken' break. That is just plain dishonest. But, why should that surprise anyone???
