Remember when there was a 15 minute break on Sundays? Well,an elder got up and siad, "lets all stand now and have relations for the next 15 minutes". Of course eveyone laughed, and my uncle who was visiting at the time said "i'm alays gong to come to this hall from ghere on out".

THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?
by Black Man ini was watching this documentary on the various galaxies and it stated that the universe is still expanding, planets are being created as we speak.
it also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.

Life lost
by Phil ini have previously posted on the subject of finding people who could help me get some testimonials from experienced jws who have been shunned by friends and family.
this was my way of getting my daughter to wake up to the realities of what is going on with the organization she is associated with.
much to my sadness, i have been notified by her husband that she died this morning of lung cancer.

What told you that no holy spirit was moving the BOE?
by Crumpet ini've read on and off here of various things that told people that god's spirit was not directing the organisation.. personally for me on the last time i got dfed it was the fact that i got reinstated by a meeting of the boe at the exact same moment i was smoking my first cigarettes in 7 months.
i didnt question it exactly but it did seem odd.
i mean i had no idea that they were discussing my reinstatement at that moment that i succumbed and had decided in my favour.

I was dating this sister, she was a hottie; problem was she was married but her husband was living with a female across town so the divorce was soon... we'd been seeing each other in private and I was having a hard time keeping my hands off her, yet I maintained control. Her husband finds out about us, goes to the elders and tells then all about it, then says he want's to be a witness and that he hasn't been sleeping with the lady he' s been with so his wife has no scriptual grounds for divorce. They're all hot at me becasue we had been seeing one another yet hadn't done the dirty; so they don't do squat to me. But they tell hottie that she must go back to her abusive husband, take a few more years of his beatings and verbal abuse. I knew that wasn't right, and just a few years later the dumb asses come out with a WT article that says beatings are grounds for divorce.
THat got me thinking, read COC and that opened the floodgates. I never really beaieved their crap in the forst place just went along becasue my family were so devoted. i became very vocal baout my opposition, mostly becasue I could plainly see God had no hand in the WT affairs. That's what started it.

Talked to an OLD Friend last night

You're a great writer Richie, true that on redials.... but I do often wonder what I could've accomplished had I not started college until I was 35 instead of 20 like most folks do. I would have my PHD by now. Sometimes I get so damn mad that I was manipulated so badly. Why/how did I let myself fall for 28years for this stupid ignorant cult? I have spoke once to my parents..

some of you may remember a little bit of what happened last year when my family and i went to visit my parents - big fiasco, cops were called and we were thrown out - so i just had no desire to have any interaction with my parental units.
i don't call, they've called a few times to speak to the kids (they called it checking on them like i'm some deranged person).
