  to explain this thread i need to tell a sad and horrific story about someone that was once a friend...............for the sake of privacy i will refer to her as carol.. i met carol in the about 1990. i was not a jw (had left when i was 16 and unbaptised).

  i was suffering with panic attacks, i think for many reasons but mainly because i had recently lost my dad and took it very hard.

  i lived with my then boyfriend, who later became my husband in a town in south yorkshire.

  I'm gonna inject other faiths here. This issue can point out the difference between the Borg, and Christ based Faiths. I know, one can't be sure of what I'm gonna say, but it is a reply with some truth.

  Many church congregations have support groups for people like her. If she would have been in one of these types of Churches, she more than likely would not have experienced complete shunning as taught by the watchtower. She would have been lifted up by friends and members who see Sin as told by scripture, and given her love to try and overcome the adultery, the addictions and so on. This happens everyday across Awerica in what the WTS wants to call False religion.

  She had no chance with backstabbing shunning. Witnesses in Christ's time would have mocked and shunned the lady at the well.

  Imaginary Friends can help you get over divorce Apparently

  its been suggested to me by someone who clearly is not aware of my atheism that adopting an imaginary friend could help me find my purpose in life after a relationship breakup.

  it annoys and perplexes me although i realise everyone has a right to their own opinion.. however my opinion is this:.

  my husband hasnt left me - i've never had a husband and i certainly hope i never have that misfortune or get ill enough to suffer such poor judgement as restricting myself to the bed of one person for the rest of my life when i personally am certainly not willing to keep such a promise.

  New guy says, God or no God, seems like Morals went right out the window. Drop God, is one thing, but that doesn't mean give up decency and respect for yourself. ( the way I see it)

  the elders cames to my home on saturday and i didn't answer the door, so they told my sister to relay the message.

  the message was "you know what it's about, we're going to make the announcement next meeting".

  i knew it was coming...but it feels so weird.

  What Double Standards Exist With Jehovah's Witnesses?

  to be a "good jehovah's witness" you must be able to live by double standards.

  you have to know how to play both sides to the middle.

  you have to speak and act one way with certain persons and another way with the others.. one example of how witnesses live by double standards:you cannot join the ymca because jws can't involve themselves with religious matters or else be shunned.

  when i was studying, the sister who studied with me was a pioneer and as "righteous-overmuch" as they come!

  i wasn't even baptized and she was already pressuring me to pioneer since i didn't work.

  nevermind that i had three little girls all under 4!!!.

  I somewhat agree with the Wanderer's post, however...

  If the family gets split, it's ultimately because of what she has done, not you, AND, exposing this whole mess and lady will possibly help other trapped minds to be free. That is worth shouting it out...period.

  went to the chemist the other day parked near my brother in laws car in car park.he saw me and turned away.my wife went into chemist had to wait 10 minutes all the time my elder brother in law sat in car.we moved closer to supermarket as soon as we had moved i watch him go into chemist he was waiting for us to leave so he could go in.. i then went into supermarket i watched him do a whole lap of the car park walking so he wouldn,t have to walk past my car with wife and kids in.

  he thought the coast was clear didn,t know i was in there so i ambushed him in an isle smiled said hello he smiled said hello then the jw shunning part of his brain kicked in head down walk straight and frown.. saw my mother in car latter and she covered her face .

  i think they feel uncomportable.

  I have to say, never being a witness, and reading the experiences sheds a lot of light on the teachings, mind control and really the sadness of being involved in this organization.

  It's like they see you as a representative of the devil, and flee for their lives. It's rediculous. And it breaks my heart to hear about wifes, husbands and children who are shunning their loved ones for years.......man, get me some tissue! I could never imagine losing my loved ones like this, and over doctrine? I feel for you people, truly.
