Looks like the pot calling the kettle black.
the v tech shooter bought his guns legally.
gun control laws don't stop this kind of determined killer anywhere in the world.
the defenseless victims couldn't carry a gun legally on campus if they had one.

was talking with my therapist this morning and i made the comment "i guess i don't mind if she is a witness as long as it doesn't harm the kids.
" this got me thinking about all the ways that being raised as witnesses harms or can harm children.
1) teaches children to have an air of superiority regarding other human beings.
It represses, suppresses, and oppresses them. I was raised in it and you always feel like you're teetering on the edge of something. It made me shy around "outsiders", suppressed much of my creative urges, and made me fearful and afraid to speak up. And you miss out on so much fun stuff.
well we now have a wonderful happy healthy baby boy ,as of march 30th.
not getting much sleep ,but oh well , he is a joy to have.so wish us luck, we have a 18 month old also, so this should be interesting.
so far my in-laws have not even come to visit or see him at the hospital or to our home , even though they have been told they are always welcome.
Congratulations! You're going to have your hands full. My babies were 13 mos. apart....whew! Send the new grandparents a card and a picture. It plants the seed of "look what I'm missing out on."
just heard it.
this year only 49 states are going to participate in the miss black america pageant.
nobody wants to be idaho.. .
Oh, come on...where's your sense of humor? Has everybody become so tight-assed that they can't laugh anymore. This joke isn't even sexist or racist. It's humanist, but people are so tightly wound these days, they can't differentiate between the two. Jeeze!

after i came to terms with my decision to leave the org, i suddenly didnt want to anything to do with god.
its been several months and i still dont want to hear people talk about whether there is a god or not.
or when people say that they thank god for this and that.

As JWs, we are so indoctrinated to associate God and spirituality with the organization that at first it's difficult to separate them. For a long time after leaving, I couldn't pray. I still had twinges of guilt and uncertainty. But over time, as I opened myself up to different ways of looking at life and spiritual philosophies, I began to find my way. Now I pray, but it's different than the way I prayed as a Witness. I actually feel his hearing ear now and if I listen with my heart, I can "hear" his voice in my life. It's awesome when this finally happens. You just have to stay open to it and allow Time to heal the horrible effects the WTS had on your spirit.
he passed away on sunday.
he discovered and had removed melanoma from his back in december.
all seemed well and it was diagnosed that they had removed it successfully.
I'm so sorry for you and your hubby. I lost my mother, father, and brother within a 4-year span and the grief was overwhelming at times. I kept remembering something my mother used to say all the time when something got me down: "This, too, shall pass."
She also used to say that "death is just a part of life" and you go on. You get up, you breathe, you cry, you pray, you work, you love, then you do it again the next day. I don't know you, but my heart goes out to you. You will get through it.
this is a thought that i've been pondering on for a while now.
more than a few on this forum cite lack of love as one of the .
major reasons that they quit attending jw meetings, and while.
I venture to say, however, if you ask a JW this, they will tell you that their love is the deepest kind and probably quote the scripture about God discipling those whom he loves. They think the shunning is the ultimate kind of love and they always tell you how difficult it is to do this to their own flesh and blood....but if you really love the person who has "fallen away"...really love them...you'll do it. B*&%sh*t!
Is it just me, or is that an expression not usually used here in the U.S.? I didn't get the question at first. We didn't call it "the doors", did we, or have I forgotten? I think I said door-to-door. Correct me if I'm wrong and have just forgotten.
do you think that there is a common denominator, or are they all different people who found what they call "the truth"?.
.
They all have the same taste in fashion.
