  hi guys and gals.. not that you missed me, but we took an impromptu vacation to las vegas for a week.. my husband started a new job today and wanted to spend time with our daughter since she's been in ny over the summer.. it was all fun and games till the transmission on his '97 died in barstow, which is 4 hours from everything ha ha ha.. anyhow, we made it home fri night courtesy of a great big tow truck (thank god for triple a).. eden started 7th grade today, all grown up.

  i didn't even get to drop her off at school because hubby has my car.

  is it an obstacle to preaching?.

  Sorry..but I have to rant about this again!

  Of course building up a retirement has never been very important to the Governing Body since THEY have not had to worry about whether they will be cared for in their old age!

  But what about the brother that HAS to work two jobs because his father and mother did not have the foresight to build up a suitable retirement and now are too old to work to support themselves?

  Maybe this is a scheme: you have to support your parents so there is NO WAY you can send your kids to college!

  ACK!!! It makes me mad.

  It is extremely easy to say that people should cut back on secular work when the person writing the article has his laundry washed for him, his room cleaned, his food prepared for him, and his rent paid for him. Interesting, that those who do not have family responsibilites are always the ones that are experts.

  And what is the deal with the huge luxury cars that the cos and dos drive? Wouldn't it make more sense to buy cheaper, more economical cars for travelling? You can get pleny of comfort in a used but well maintained Corolla or Cavalier for these guys.

  I have an interesting question....were the 12 apostles married when Jesus called them? I honestly do not know, but I believe they were not. I do not recall Jesus calling fathers and mothers to stop working in order to be more active in preaching.

  These annoys me because it is also so biased against the husband/father in the family. I have actually known men that have been chastised because he wanted to stay home with the kids for a while or only work part time while the wife worked. This should be a decision made by the husband and wife...not the elders. I know one guy that cannot work because he is disabled, but wanted to be an aulliuary pioneer for one month a few years ago. They kept telling him no, because they said that if he could aulliaury pioneer (I believe it was 60 hours for one month at the time) then why could he not get a job? Once he explained that he got money every month because he was disabled they left him alone because he was providing support to his family. 60 hours a month of field service is NOT equivalent to 60 hours per month real work. Think of all the time sitting in the car while you are waiting for the rest of your car party to get back from a door.

  elderly people, not married, living together?

  i would like some opinions on a situation that seems to be arising in my family.. since my mother is now a widow, and her income will be much less, she may not be able to afford to stay where she is, even with the financial assistance she gets from the family.

  so we have talked about her moving in with us.

  the problem is, my father, her ex husband lives with us too.

  Layed Off!

  no matter how you think you are ready for such an eventuality, it still remains stressful when it finally does happen.. until last friday, i worked as a systems engineer for a large canadian telecom equipment manufacturer that has been laying off thousands of employees.

  their target was 30,000 and they are almost there.

  i dont know, but maybe my number was 25,879...or something.. anyone out there works or used to work for this company?

  Hmmm a new religion. It worked for Ron L. Hubbard, haahaa!

  Seriously, if you have not already done so you may want to consider working as a contractor for a contract employment company. I was, until recently, a contract employee recruiter, and things got tight in the US as well as Canada, especially telecom.

  i posted some questions a while ago about my wife, and now i'm lost.

  i put together a 200 page exposition on how the governing body are false witnesses using only watchtower literature (scans and the cd) and showing how they claim to be the salvation and that people shouldn't think for themselves, showed it to my wife, and she simply told me that she knew all those things and that if she could she would divorce me.

  it's all in the bible.. the weird thing is though, the next morning, she pretended like things are fine.

  I realize you are concerned for your wife's wellbeing and your marriage, but if I were her, and saw that heap, I would just think one thing,"he's trying to control me!!!"

  No one can swallow such an overdose, it will make you gag. Small doses are the best way.

  many have pondered the question.... "does the watchtower bible and tract society read what they themselves have labeled "apostate", whether it be books, or web sites?

  the answer to this question could be verified by a future "whistleblower", who perhaps worked in the watchtower's basement, but there is already enough proof for a definitive answer.. we will examine the question regarding the watchtower's "surfing habits" by means of proof as found in the awake of august 8, 2001. this article is currently being "placed" (sold) from door to door this month.

  i know, i 'sold' some.. on page 7 we find these paragraphs beneath a picture of a miserable looking guy surfing the inet in ramshackle surroundings... (the watchtower's basement no doubt).

  I would expect that they have brothers assigned to reading this stufff. I don't think they really have to go to a lot of sites though to publish blanket condemnations of sites, such as music sites. I wonder if any have been to Ifilm.com? Heehee...the best place that you can find hilarious little movies, anything from short kids cartoons to nasty, nasty, NASTY porn.

  Actually never been to the porn part myself, but you could probably get Df'd just for reading the little descriptions of the movies haha.

  Has Anyone Tried Yoga?

  i have been considering learning yoga for a few years now, but i am not sure how to go about it.

  i don't really have the money for a class right now, and most of the books i have found are either extremely expensive or not really for beginners.

  can anyone make any suggestions?

  i have been dfd since i turned 19, i aux, pioneered for a short time and then selfishly went after the fruits of the flesh.

  smoking, sex, drinking, drugs, etc.... the thing i couldn't, or wouldn't, see at the time was that i was acting selfishly.

  it didn't matter what others in the cong.

  I was wondering if you contacted the authorities about your wife taking your kids away? You have custody rights, and she cannot just walk off with them.

  Just curious...I cannot imagine being seperated from my children that long.

  I sleep past 9AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings without feeling guilty for the rest of the day.
