  he was going through a divorce and my boss had a crush on him.

  I agree with Megadude. This is beyond third hand information. If there was an actually child in the house, I may respond differently.
  
  I am curious if what he was actually looking at was indeed child porn? No, he shouldn't be solicitating 15 year olds online...but you only have what..third or fourth hand hearsay that he was doing these things or looking at kiddie porn? He could have been looking at barely legal porn, and his girfriend assume it was porn. Also, 15 year olds..no that isn't stricly pedophelia if they have already entered adolenscence. Confusion is right about that. I say stay out of it...completely out of it. Now, if your boss wants to do something...that is something altogether different. The most you probably should do is say to your boss...hey if you feel these things are true, why don't YOU do something about it?

  flash--november 16, 2005, peoria, il.. instead of merry christmas, happy hannukah (or chanukah), kwanza, etc.all merchants are to use a generic term instead.

  no use of santa, a nativity scene or any christian or other religious symbolage may be used in store displays, on advertising on upon product packaging.

  use instead nondescript wintry animals, snowflakes and candycanes to signify the holiday season.. the committee on political correctness is expected to issue a final ruling by friday on whether "festivus" may be used.. -merchants for appropriate designations.

  i am not a jw, but trying to just understand them as i have a new friend who is a jw.

  i apologise up front if i offend anybody through my ignorance.. firstly could someone explain "disfellowshipped".

  i read through some sites (particularly those by ex-jw's) who described being disfellowshipped as a horrible experience that is thrust upon them sometimes through no fault of thier own, or vindictiveness of certain eldars and church memebers, or for doing something wrong.

  One of the things a JW will teach their bible studies is to study their current religion using the bible, and question whether it is really in line with the bible. YET, JWs are NOT allowed to dissect their own religion to make sure it is truly in line with the bible's teaching. Very hypocritical. If someone is sure they have the true religion, they should be able to withstand reading criticism about their faith.

  Did you record your hours in field service correctly?

  i always hated the shepherding call where they asked you to try and spend more time in field service, as they saw your hours turned in were low.

  at a young age, i learned how easy it was to just write down what ever felt right.

  i spent about 30 hours a month in field service as a pioneer for two years and never had anyone say anything to me.

  noooo....I was extremely anal about reporting my time...I had it down to minutes even. the elder in charge of that stuff approached me one day and said it was fine to round up, so if I had 9 hours and 54 minutes to put it as 10. That was almost too much for my JW brain to handle. I made sure I got in the extra 6 minutes the next month hahaha.

  husband, self and kids were talking about 'where we would be' if we hadn't had five children.. i said, that if we'd stopped at two, as we'd intended, we'd probably still be dubs as it was the obstroperousness of the twins, their constant screaming, fighting etc that made it impossible for us to go to the meetings so often.. so, we all agreed that it was a good thing we hadn't stopped at two children.. the twins were 'bad asses'!

  cute poem...we have 5 kids too...but no twins, thank goodness. And two of them are my stepkids, so I didn't have to do the labor for them hahah.

  My 4 year old is a little firecracker, and quite manipulitive at times. The other day she was trying to talk my sister into giving her candy. She said "Please oh Please! It won't make me sick and it won't make me BAD!"

  Of Late Many Here Seem To Be Preaching Aethiesm..

  when i first came here a while back there was plenty of discussion around and about jw topics and general chit chat but of late i've felt quite a sharp increase in posts that are: .

  1/ preaching aethism (as opposed to putting it forward in a respectful way as an alternate viewpoint.

  2/ vitriolic attacks on those who dare have another view ('damn those stupid heretical believers') .

  I respect people, but that doesn't mean I have to respect their beliefs.

  Sometimes that line gets blurred online....so stuff happens, people take things personally, because beliefs are a personal thing.

  Instead of telling people "you are a fool" just say "I'm not calling you a liar, but I don't believe a word you are saying"?

  Semantics, tis what the real problem is.

  How big is your Ecological Footprint??...

  since i have a little too much time up my sleave at present i thought id start a thread on a subject thats dear to my froggy heart.

  for starters, here are a couple of links to on-line ecological footprint calculators that only take a couple of minutes to punch in basic data to get back a rough environmental impact assessment on how sustainable your lifestyle is.

  sustainability requires decent and equitable living within the means of nature.

  15 footprints...given that I have 8 people living in my house...I can live with that.

  These sites are neat, and I do believe everyone, including myself can do better with recycling, conserving energy, yadda, yadda, yadda...but I find sites like this tend to over simplify things.
