  Anyone here got to meetup meetings for ex jws?

  i never got a chance to when i was in new england..but see they have things down here in texas as well.. i was just wondering if any of you have gone to any meet up activity...even if it is not jw related..

  Secret literature

  almost the majority of us know that there is a secret book just for the elders which is called "pay attention..." everybody knows that the society defends herself saying that the book is not secret becasue it was shown to the witnesses in an assambley and there is a picture of it in the book proclaimers so she askes how the book could be a secret.

  well, acccording to my dicctionary for learners of english says: secret; something that is secret is known about by only a small number of peple, and is not told or shown to anyone else.

  so the book is secret.

  simplesally,

  that is the BEST explanation I have heard...that actually does make sense, that it is your personal answers etc. Why the heck didnt they just say that? and keep a blank one in the library so people could see the kind of things that were taught at pioneer school.

  But what is practiced in the organization? There is a shortage of marriageable men. What do you see? Guys who couldn?t get a beautiful woman to say hi to him, but because they are baptized brothers, can walk by with a trophy sister on his arm. Look at the pictures of women in publications, beauty queens every one.

  This was such a hurtful thing when I was in...I was a single mom...at the time I was just a wee bit overweight, but I don't think I was unnattractive. Yet, it was made clear to me on more than a few occaisions that I didn't have a chance finding a brother to marry unless he had one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. Not only was a not a beauty queen, but I was from a really poor family and I had a child. I was considered damaged goods.
  That pissed me off, but since I had always been of the mind "if I don't find the right guy, then I don't need a guy", I let it slide.

  How many times did I see a total a$$hole of a guy get a nice pretty YOUNG sister to marry that was several years younger them him. And there were plenty of unhappy young brides; there husbands got to go play basketball all the time and do other stuff with friends while she was stuck home. As long as he made his meetings and 1o hours a month it was okay...but god forbid if she had no kids and was not pioneering then she must be a selfish person...
  ack I could go on and on and on!!!

  Good work blondie...I really enjoyed this one a lot.

  Sometimes I would flip through my mothers copies...it doesnt mean she is going back...she could just be curious about what they are still saying....deep breaths..deep breaths...

  She should not feel embarrased..and please don't make her. Just ask her why, if it is just curiousity, or if there really is something going on that is drawing her back. I don;t think it is the best religion to be in either, but if you get all freaking on her you will just push her away.

  Finally got to make a cameo at the Dallas Aposta fest

  finally got to meet a few apostates in dallas tonight...i was only there for about 15 minutes...sick husband at home...crazy children, but i had to finally get out and meet the donut lady!!!

  as soon as the flu season has past...if it ever does, we should do it again soon .

  Movement to 'Draft" Hillary

  some months ago i heard that hillary will be drafted as president at the democratic convention.

  well, this is no longer a rumor.

  on the hannity & colmes show last night, foxnews, this 'rumor' was confirmed to be true.. the reason for the public silence (not told on the show) but by the rumor mill, is to keep hillary on a low profile, not to create a public stir.

  well....Bush did do a quick job of putting us back to a serious budget defeceit....which Clinton had managed to get others to help him balance for the first time in forever! I know with 9/11 it may have happened anyway, but damn....did he go through the money fast or what? At the same time though, my family was one that DID benefit from the last tax cut this summer. We got our $1200 check in the mail, and it was perfect timing...we went right out and put a downpayment on the passenger van that we needed so badly since we have 5000 children. So, there definately was a good SHORT TERM benefit to my family...and we are pretty much jes common peeps. But that is what scares me....how much long term benefit was all those tax cuts going to be now that we have a huge deficit...which I obvioulsy cannot spell.

  Clinton was an absolute pig as a human being..he really was, and I was really hoping Hillary would drop his sorry ass after she was elected by NY. but he was a very good president over all...if you can forget about his morality problems.

  Hillary should dum ill Bill, and hook up with some decent professor or something...not a politician or business guy. Then should run as a VP candidate. I do not know if there she is strong enough of a candidate to be elected as Pres...I think the first step to get a chick in the white house would be with a VP...

  the society has really been pushing hard lately (i know, like always) to do more and reach out.

  there is at least one reason for do this that i can think of.

  i have many friends around the country and they went to the elder school last year.

  If they would wise up and let women serve as MS and elders there would never be a shortage....all those die hard pioneer sisters would step right up. They did most of the work anyway, and got no credit.

  The catholic church is having the same problem..and thats if you don't even count all the ones they have to kick out for messing with the boys

  I don't Hillary could win if she did run. She she focus on what good she can do in her current position; I think she is a decent politician, but it did really bother me that she ran in NY without being a resident for very long. Well....the New Yorkers voted her in, so I guess they got what they wanted. Maybe in a few years, when she can have more of her own political life proven.

  I was very upset when McCain dropped out. Now there is a guy that I think would be a strong leader...too bad he will never run again. I feel wierd about Dean now that Gore is supporting him...yuck! I believe that Bush was a lesser evil than Gore would have been. But, ech...there are so many democrats in the field right now I don't know what to think. I am not a democrat..an independent, but there are no other real candidates in the field to oppose Bush. Can you believe how Gore stabbed Lieberman in the back like that...I was disguested, and I cannot stand Lieberman.

  Now, I think Jimmy Buffet should run; and kick out greenspan and replace him with Warren Buffet...there's two guys that would do nothing but good for the country...sure, Jimmy may not be the best with foreign relations, but we will be partying so much, and rolling in dough, who would care?
