ep....
i guess i'm just wondering if your sister knows that you're inactive at this point? if so, why would she make you go to the elders? do you still 'hang out' with your old jw friends? just asking these things because i'm in the same sort of boat. got lost in the shuffle when i moved away, not df'd or da'd, but i don't consider myself a witness anymore and no longer accountable to them for my actions. my parents choose to live in denial about my life and choices so they can continue to talk to me. i guess i would deny it. i don't know, tough spot to be in.

I did something really stupid.... :(
by Eppie inhey,.
ok, i need all the advice i can get...... last week i told my sister (she is jw, as is my entire family) that i did something stupid.
i had just broken up with my boyfriend because he was cheating on me.... and in some kind of drunk-revenge-mood i slept with his best friend..... .

finally got my thoughts gathered to share......
by scootergirl ini am relatively new to the board and have to say have never had such a heartwarming welcome from so many people!
it feels so comforting to make new friends that "understand" where i have come from.. i have read many many stories, and have sat back in awe....wow, what stories.
mine is quite simple, but none-the-less my story.

christy........
i know i probably didn't need to post a reply because i could tell you in person, but maybe it will mean more in writing.
reading this all over again brings back all the hurt and anger i've felt growing up--mom took away my best friend. like you, i don't remember much about growing up--only bits and pieces. and most of my good mememories are of us kids or being with dad. i do remember crying the night you had the fight with mom and wishing dad was home. pretty sure that night was a turning point for us all.
you are such an incredibly strong person. i don't know where you found the strength to go on. you're amazing. everyday i am so thankful that you and randy are in my life. i love you both so much, and i know that now, there is NOTHING that can pull us apart again.
you know how we both love Creed, so to quote "i give you everything i am, and still fall short of what you've done for me."
i love you teenie.

My Theory about wild X-JWs
by zenpunk ini was pondering this theory this morning - what do you all think?.
a few months ago i went to visit someone from my last congregation who is now also an x-jw.
what is interesting is that, though completely straight-laced within the congregation, he became absolutely out of control once he left and is now trying to figure out how to get his life together.

vi,
i think alot of the venom that is on here comes from years of pent up frustration. you said you are just studying now. well imagine growing up and being warped by the whole WTS your whole life. you might have a little venom too. i'm not condoning all out bashings, but maybe if you try to understand where some of us are coming from it will make more sense. -

it's so nice to know you're not the only one who this happens to. it took 15 years for my sister and i to be reunited. she left when i was 8 and because of the WT and my parents, i wasn't allowed to see her all the while i lived at home. my older brother left the org when he was 18 and told me that whenever i was ready he could take me to see her. i was totally paralyzed by the fear of what would happen to me if i did, that i chickened out. finally, my sister found me off of the classmates.com website. after 15 years, we saw each other on easter sunday, 2001. looking back now i'm so bitter and angry that the 3 of us kids growing up weren't allowed to be together. teenage years are hared enough without all this dysfunctional shit. and i would also like to thank everyone here for being so great--i don't know that i've ever felt so welcome before.

wish i'd have known about this site and everyone earlier. i used to date a guy from near conway. was out there all the time and usually headed off to portsmouth for the day when he was working. would have been great to have some friends to hang out with.
p.s. could someone please have a moose juice for me? :)

does anyone else have problems dating??
by eyegirl ini'm fairly new to leaving the borg (about a year and a half).
just wondering if anyone else has had a hard time adjusting to dating in the real world?
i don't go by the whole 'we better not date unless we're ready to get married'.

no, i haven't been dating controlling men. first guy i dated (and slept with--my mother calling me a whore to my face the whole time) was very sweet and we planned on getting married. just got to the point that we realized we made better friends than lovers. we're still very close. dated a married man (oops!) in my defense, i didn't know he was married at first, but by the time i found out, the sex was so good i couldn't say no. we're not seeing each other now, but also remain good friends. was going out with a guy for about 2 months--he's divorced (not an ex dubber) with a 6 yr old son. thought things were going fine. met the kid, was spending the night there with the kid home--then out of nowhere he freaks out that things are going too fast (the above things were his decisions--not mine!). i don't take any shit and won't put up with a controlling man. if one tries to be, he's out the door.
