Kenny Wayne Shepherd and BB King Today!
by scootergirl inthat's right.....i am so excited.
filthy bought tickets to take me to a concert.......bb king and kenny wayne shepherd today!
it happens to be in an outdoor auditorium and unfortunately it is a little overcast and chilly-but i look at it as more reason to "cuddle" up under a blanket and listen to some great blues music!

HAS THIS PLACE HELPED YOU?
by minimus insince so many post and chat here, and most here do not go to meetings, have you found this board to be a place that can help and refresh you?

i can't even imagine what things would be like now without the wonderful friends i've made here. not only the ones who i only 'talk' to through post and chat, but also the ones i've gotten to meet through apostafests. it's very refreshing to finally meet people who really know where you're coming from and understand how you feel.

The Old the Young, and the Forum
by forgetmenot ini was just wondering the age of most people on this forum.
i am only 18. i was just wondering if there is anyone else out there who posts and is so young.
or how old you were when you (1) left/faded from the jw organization, (2) how old you started posting here, and how old you are now.

i'm 24, was raised a dub, baptized at 18 because i was so sick of my mom bugging me about it, figured i might as well just get it over with. left when i was 22, neither da'd or df'd--just faded. started posting on this in june after my sister found it.
p.s. desertflower.....i know it's not quite the same, but some of us out here are missing parents/grandparents. sometimes the 'family' that you choose can really make you happy too. ((((((((desertflower))))))))

well this isn't exactly personal experience, but.......one of the sweetest things i remember my dad doing for a wedding anniversary was getting a special pendant for my mom. it wasn't an ordinary pendant though. when they were first married, he couldn't afford a diamond ring, so after a couple years (i guess, i wasn't born yet) he was able to buy her a real diamond wedding ring. now i think, they must've been married somewhere around 15 or 20 years, she wanted something a little bigger and a different cut. instead of buying a whole new ring, they traded in her old stone and had a new one mounted in the old setting. without her knowing, he bought back the old diamond and had it mounted in a heart shaped pendant with some rubies--her favorite gemstone. she had no idea. he had it wrapped and hid it in the freezer, so she would find it when she was making dinner. i still remember how shocked and surprised she was, and the joy he took in knowing that. i also remember him writing alot of poetry.
