Witless numbers are not in decline - nobody leaves the Truth.

as was pointed out at the circus a$$embly, people are leaving the churches in droves, yet only the constant increase in witless numbers was noted.. why is this?.

are we too dumb to realize that if somebody stops going to the kingdumb hell and starts living the way they choose, they are not really witlesses, and therefore no witlesses ever leave?.

or, as freddie f might have argued - bless his rotting dead heart - think of zeno:.

i did not realize i had a topic left.. two years ago my brother committed suicide.. people from this board were very helpful and supportive.. suicide of a loved on is a difficult death to deal with.. my heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Perhaps what the sentiments of the song should do is to help us live each day in hope together with an attitude of respect and peace for our family, friends and neighbours.

what a waste of living being "in the truth" was!

sometimes i see persons suggesting that the witness religion isn't all so wrong.

actually they suggest that they themselves are the issue.

Minimus - I too find your tone unacceptable and condescending. Even when I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses I always considered other people's view with tolerance and respect. You would be the first to criticise if the WTBTS made statements such as this about other religious views.

What troubles me is the way that a 'career in the truth' is portrayed. In reality how many actually make it to Gilead and with Bethel down-sizing even the number going to Bethel will be fewer in the future. Serving where the 'need is greater' and the 'foreign language field' are just pie in the sky.

I conducted a BS for a while, where every other meeting I had a sister read.
I hope they head covering

In my nearly 30 years of conducting the so-called book study there were often occasions when there was no baptised brothers in attendance to read. In these cases, I always got the sisters to take turns in reading. I wouldn't have expected the sisters to cover their heads, it is not a teaaching assignment; more like reading a scripture at the group.

There is a temptation to see the young as innocent and untouched by the trials of life. And they truely are.

But remember, we are all beautiful, young and old, regardless of color or race.

If we truly believe this, then the world soons becomes a better place.

It is a little surreal - it looks like a cow from 'Ghost Busters'.

On the serious side though, the developed world has to start eating less meat. Factory farming is cruel to animals, our health suffering from the over consumption of meat and dairy products and the environment is being destroyed by our relentless appetite for more meat products.

The obvious choice is to become vegetarian. However, if you cannot go that far, then at least start to think as meat as a luxury. Meat should be consumed infrequently, not considered a daily 'right'.
