  ....So do you believe ANY of the Bible is true?

  i saw the movie "300" last night-i just got to thinking- because in that movie, xerxes, the king of persia is part of the story.

  and from my bible reading in the past, i know xerxes was mentioned.....and other historical people who were actual people....stuff like noah's ark is easily discredited, but do you think everything in the bible never happened or some did?

  is it possible some stuff happened and some stuff didn't?.

  my field trip to Bethel

  a few years ago, when i was an active witness, i went all the way from california to the east coast for vacation to visit my witness friend.

  her family took me to bethel (one of the many things we did)...seriously, what was the big deal i've been hearing about my whole life how ," oh bethel is so great!

  " when i finally saw it when i was 18, it was like walking through a building with a bunch of walls with pictures of paradise on the walls and watching random people do printing press stuff.

  My Field Trip to Bethel

  so...for all on here who know, it's every young witnesses hope one day to visit bethel (esp if you live on the west coast like me), so when i went to visit my friend on the east coast a few years ago, her family took me to see bethel (i was an active witness, mind you).

  all my life, it seems like i would hear everyone talk about how great bethel is and "you have to visit there-it's amazing", but i visited brooklyn bethel and patterson and walkhill.

  every time i talked about my vacation to nyc to various people, the highlight i would mention to them was that i got to see conan o'brien live!!!

  Do you believe in God? oR Jesus?

  so....do any of you believe in some person in the sky floating around called jesus?

  or having a relationship with that person (or god) who is in some other dimension apparantly?

  being a witness, they stressed so much having a relationship with "jehovah" and all that.

  hello fellow jwd people....i just wanted to tell everyone "thank you" for everything on here-it has been extremely helpful for my brain to realize (i hope!!

  ) i'm doing the right thing to not be a witness anymore....as some of you may or may not know, i stoppped being a witness about 3 months ago.... it's a weird thing to not go to meetings anymroe/service/have only witness friends/think the end is coming and....soon.

  i only left b/c of intellectual reasons, so reading everyone's posts on various subjects and whatnot has been a huge help to help dispell some of the witness "truths" that i thought were true since i was 1 year old..... and, on another random note, my profile pic is actually a pic of a duck at bethel!!!

  1) the last convention was called "jehovah's day at hand!

  Did anyone get the old "counterfeit money" illustration?

  a couple of my old witness girlfriends came over last night (note-i only recently left the org.

  like 2 months ago, so people are still trying to get me to come back and "reason" with me)...and they used that stupid "counterfeit money" illustration.

  i swear, every time i tell people i don't think it's the truth, they put that old illustration on me!

  Assembly talks-WHy did they talk so loud at the end!?

  whenever i would go to conventions, i thought it was weird how at the end of the brothers' talks (especially the older ones like from the governing body or whatever), they would start getting louder and louder and louder.

  ie; "in this time of the end, we need to keep on the watch for our adversary satan is roaring about like a lion!!!!

  do you agree??".

  Does anyone remember the Awake or Watchtower that came out after Sep 11?

  i am now vaguely recalling either an awake or watchtower that came out right after the september 11th terrorist attacks on the world trade center....and anyone can hear me out on this...i remember they had a bunch of little stories of people that were actually there and like every single person they wrote about apparantly ran to bethel away from the chaos and all of what was going on by the world trade centers...i'm not doubting these people in the article did run there, but seriously, the whole point of the article was to just be like, "ah, yes, all of them ran to the safe mother," it was really weird.

  i mean, it was all like a commercial that apparantly bethel is the place to be when disaster strikes or other bologna like that.
