Your mom is just the typical jw. Facts, logic, reasoning, means nothing to them. They just come up with some off the wall comments as though they are the truth. They have to be right even when they think they may be wrong. Then when everything is said and done, she will tell all her jw friends how she had to straighten you out. You can't reason with a closed mind.

Coming to a KH near you...the generation/new light WT

The shaded box in that study article " can we calculate the length of this generation" says regarding the length of a generation, " the exact length of that time cannot be stated except that it does have an end and would not be excessively long." I guess that over 2000 years is not excessively long. The society has done it again , never making any sense. If the apostles he was talking to were the first annointed and there is no limit of the time for the annointed to be chosen (their new light) then just how long will this so called generation last. Will a million years be excessively long.
The more they screw around with this generation thing the worse it gets.

I came to realize that the watchtower society is nothing but a social club with a religious theme. The club is like any other club (elks, moose, masons, etc). The important thing is the club ( wts). The members all think the same , if they don,t they are not excepted into the club. The members have the same agenda. People who don't agree to or go by the rules, are better off leaving. As george carlin said (about the rich), it is a club folks and you ain't part of it.
In my case I did not fit in to the club, and now I know why, I always knew something was wrong, things just did not make sense, but I thought I was in the club, but really I was not. Now I am not frustrated because I am not where I do not belong.

Jah VERY Merciful -delaying the end
by stillajwexelder init struck me like a thunderbolt at 4.00 am this morning while tossing and turning in bed.
i used to say "isnt jehovah wonderful -he is being especially merciful by delaying the end so more people can come in the truth and be saved" the wtbts representatives have said the same.. problem here is that earths population grows about 20,000 per day (reference needed here) .
not even close to that come into the truth.

I have heard alot of jws say that jehovah is delaying to let more people in. Yet Jesus says he will not delay . Another example of jw confusion .
Thousands of people are dying at this hour who have never received the message.
Jesus said that he would arrive with his angels, who would preach the kingdom message. He didn't say he would arrive with the jws.
When I was in, I did a terrible job of speading the message, and so did everyone else. If you are going to get the message to billions of people who now live and have lived , you are going to have to come up with a lot better than what the society has to offer. Oh yes , that would be Jesus and his angels.

For you non believers. I too used to think this a lot of bull, untill I did a lot research on it. There are thousands of pictures of these chemtrails that you can find youselves on the internet. But even then I had my doubts, because I'm like most people, I want to see for myself, and so about two years ago It started to happen over our area in northern california. It is the craziest thing you will ever see. They usually start early in the morning and go on all day. The trails first look like contrails then grown into a very large cloud/myst. What was to be a clear day becomes very dreary. I have counted up to 50 of these trails within a few hours and they create all kinds of designs but mostly crisscross patterns.
I brought it up to my wife and relatives and friends and they thought I was nuts, so I would call them when it would start in the mornings, they no longer believe I'm a nut. You have to look to the sky as some have said. People just do not look to the sky anymore. If it happens over your area there will be no doubt in you mind then.
There are lot of theories about what is in the trails. I myself have not formed an opinion yet. Just type chemtrails in google , there are thousands of pages on the subject. My sugestion is to first just look at all the pictures and then read all the other stuff if you are so inclined.

Birthday Parties etc (some questions)
by juswondering innow i know the birthday issue has been laboured to death, but... as a 17 year old living in a non-witness family,it's kinda hard for me to never question beliefs.
now, i've spent the past hour or so scanning through the 07 watchtower library on my family pc, and havven't found a definitive answer, so would appreciate some input on this.
basically: the bible shows bday's in a unfavourable light, the pagan roots have been highlighted, and the worldly side too, i know all this.

The trouble with society is that they try to associate one thing with another. Someone was killed during a birthday party so therefore the birthday party was bad. The only was that would make any sense would be if killing someone was a necessary part of the celebration.
Jws do alot of things that pagans used to do and still do. The pagan nations had feasts and killed people during the feast, but yet the isrealites had feasts and so did the christians. Pagans have wedding celebrations and so do jws. I guess if you really thought about it pagans do alot of things that jws do.
The problem with jws is they don't think about how stupid the whole thing is. It only started with Rutherford who was a nut anyway, just to make jws different from everybody else. The society hangs on to some of the crazy crap that rutherford made up but most of it is now considered apostate.
When any thinking person researches the society, they begin to realize just how confused and mixed up all the teachings really are.

new brochure
by bonnzo inat tonights meeting a new brochure was released along with the question box in the km regarding how to dress when visiting bethel/branch homes.
they, of course, said to dress like you do at th meetings.
the brochure is 4 pages with color photo illustations of what not to wear and what is appropriate.

On Saturday... I decided to dump all my literature
by tak init felt good!
i took that huge plastic bin that contained multiple copies of all the books given out by the society, all the old wt and awake's that i had, the year books, etc..... and threw into the city dump.
my boyfriend thought i should maybe bring the literature back to them and i said "hell no.... so they can give it out to more innocent people.. he agreed.

Just remember the society would love for us to get rid of all the old literature. I have no intention of getting rid of mine. I have some very good stuff on how they contradict everything they say. But I can see how some people would just like to have it gone and forgotten.

how do you deal with bullies?
by loosie inmy daughter is in 6th grade.. i know from personal experience when i was in jr high that kids can be really mean.
i used to come home crying everyday.
i was told that i was ugly and i would never get married.

I do not reccomend this solution to anyone, but it is a true story never the less. When I was 13, good friends and neighbors of our family had son who grew into a very large mean vicious bully . By the time he was 18 he was bad news to the neigborhood and the police, He was serious problem for his mom and dad. One night he came home as drunk as skunk and knocked his momma around. That night after he passed out his momma tied him to his bed with a rope and proceeded to beat the crap out of him with his own baseball bat. Later we watched the excitement as she was taken to the police station and he was taken to the hospital. She was questioned and released with no charges being filed, he was never seen or heard from again. Moral of the story , never mess with momma.
