i belieave jesus as described in the gospells did not exist.
so i decided to start a thread that adresses this issue face on.

i am a newbie here and have just found this site after a some jw sisters came a visiting to my door.. i was listening intently to what they were saying, and asked a question about cruelty in this world, the subject got around to animals and they said that animals did not eat each other until after the flood.. and animals did not turn against man until they started to be cruel to them, which was again after the flood.
this seems to me to be so ludicrous, please can you tell me if anyone has heard of this before?
I don't know if the bible says all animals were herbivores prior to the flood. It said that all the plants were given as food but I don't think the animals were asking permission before using their daggers and poisons. It was after the flood that MAN was allowed to eat meat and then the animals were afraid of man.It seems to me that satan and his demons rebelled long before the creation of the earth and that the world was created with violence as a reflection of the demons.
The snake is something that God (Jesus) made, yet it is completely "demonized" by biblical writers.

Josephus was a historianof Jewish ancestry living in the first century. He was a contemporary of Jesus quoted by many early christians. See if you can tell where his understanding of the Creation differs from the one in the bible. Pay particular attention as to speech, venom, and if he was really satan.

Not personally, but some girls I know think I am god. They keep calling me god in the heat of the moment.
I must be extremely good looking. Especially to Japanese women. They told me that I look like one of their gods. A couple of weeks ago three of them said I look like Zilla.

Thankyou both for your for replying. They did say that the animals did eat meat but only from animals that were were already dead. So I was just thinking, were there not - and is there not - obvious animals that were built to kill? For instance the sabre toothed tiger would probably find it difficult to eat food with such long teeth, so they presumably were used to kill there prey.
There are some animals such as poisonous snakes and spiders who will not eat a dead animal. The reason for this is that the poison acts as a digestive juice. They cannot digest a dead animal that has not died without being poisoned. If they try to poison a dead animal, the poison will not circulate in their systems.

lev.27:28,29 says ..."but any devoted thing which a man devotes to jehovah from all which belongs to him, of man or of animal, or of the field of his possession, it shall not be sold nor redeemed.
everyone devoted to destruction(sacrificed) is most holy no devoted thing which is dedicated by man shall be ransomed; it shall surely be put to death.
this explains why jeptha, when promising to offer as burnt offering the first person to great him upon his successful return from war, had to kill his daughter dispite his feelings for her.
He is also condemned in the Apostolical Constitutions, B. VII. ch. 37. It is clear that Jephthah was wrong in both making the vow and going through with it for a number of reasons:
1. Jephthah was foolish not to consider that his daughter might be the first to greet him. (it seemed quite a common event after a great victory - e.g. 1 Samuel 18:6)
2. Burnt offerings were to be used strictly as guilt offerings, not thanksgivings to God or vows. Jephthah missed the point.
3. The sixth commandment "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13) makes it a sin to kill anyone unless specifically instructed to do so by God.
4. Human sacrifices are a gross violation of the Levitical law (Leviticus 18:21) and are condemned in Deuteronomy 12:31
5. Jephthah was entitled to redeem his daughter for the equivalent sum of money under Leviticus 27, so there was a way out. (even if he did not have enough money, he could have arranged a reasonable fee with a Preist to redeem his daughter).
6. Under Leviticus 22:18-19, all burnt offerings must be male.
Maybe he uttered his oath in public and rather than loose face he went ahead with his vow?
