only preaching is not a way for true christians

could it be that different organisations just work on different ways to promote a christian life?

this means while wts is only active in preaching, others are active in social help, others ... well in other works.

that problem came into our mind by questioning why we are leaving.

Christ said to his disciples, "Go therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the , teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.." (Matthew 28:19, 20)

I have a problem with these verses:

1) Why did Jesus tells his disciples to baptize the future disciples in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the holy spirit but the bible never tells us of anyone being baptized in the name of the three? There is a mention of people being baptized by the holy spirit, in the name of Jesus, even in the name of Paul, but never as ordered by Jesus.

2) Why, if Jesus order the disciples to make disciples of NON-JEWS, did it take them years to accept them into their religion, and supposedy took an act of Jehovah's angel/dream to do so? Was the holy spirit sleeping all this time?

I wanted to buy something usually found at a pharmacy while visiting San Antonio Texas. I live near Chicago, so I am accustomed to the accent here. People kept directing me to go to a red store in the next block. It was not until my fourth walk up and down the block, with no store painted in red that I noticed a sign "Red Star"

How Many 1st Century Christians?

just wondering if anyone has done any research regarding the estimated number of christians around during the 1st and 2nd centuries.

it seems that there would have been well over 144,000. if so, there certainly would not have been any remaining spots to fill during the 20th century.

of course, the bible doesn't seem to set a number limit on those going to heaven.

Many professed Christians today might be willing to die for their faith, but still not be Jesus? footstep followers and meeting the Scriptural requirements for such.

Such as not joining the YMCA, having chandeliers in their showcase, selling Watchtower magazines, shunning everyone not conforming, thinking about which house to occupy after Armaggeddon, not go to college, not take any blood fractions not approved by the Krooklyn Publishing House, believing that it is better to illnesses than to take a vaccine, change your name from Bible Student to Jehovah's Witness, go to 5 meetings per week, take a family study, personal study with WT materials only, join team sports with only JWs, buy four-door cars only, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseaum.

See, it's simple.

All you have to do is give your free will, your money, your health, your sanity, and life to ~~Jesus~~ The Watchtower Bible and Tract Corporation

i think i've discovered one real contribution to human thought, specifically logic, that has been made by the watchtower bible and tract society in general and every single jehovah's witness who has ever debated about the nwt in particular.. .

they've invented a new logical fallacy.. .

i thought it could use a spiffy latin tag, so i've called it the aliquis alicubi fallacy.

my jw neighbor wasn't able to come on monday after all, but we rescheduled our meeting for today (wednesday).

on monday, i had a bit of material around, and my next-door neighbor stopped in.

i found out that she was in a bible study with some jws!

These verses, as most gospel endings, are recognized as spurious by thinking people.

Why, if these verses are true, are they the only ones to mention baptism in the name of the Holy Spirit? They are not found anywhere else in the bible. Sometimes apostles would baptice people in their names, in the name of Jesus, etc., but never father, son, and spirit all together. Why is it that they are commanded to make disciples of all nations, They did no effort to make disciples from the nations until Cornelius, and were even scandalized and not believing that ?pagans? had to be accepted into the new religion?
