by ICUstaryn inafter watching serenity's video i had to comment.
i kept pausing the video looking for family members or others that i might know but haven't seen in years.
hated the drive to holt, but loved the soft serve ice cream.

What is it with OBVES that you give him/her the time of day ?

Who's Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name NOW?
by headisspinning inthis thought isn't fully formed, but maybe someone can expand on it.... i've been keeping an eye on the situation developing with steven unthank's case against the wt in australia - how they have completely disregarded the law about child abuse registry checks for elders - and it seems to be that they've done the very thing we all lived in fear of doing: bringing reproach on jehovah's name.. they talk about how if jw's engage in wrong conduct they are bringing reproach on god's name, or how satan has heaped reproach on jehovah's name... well, it seems to me they are doing an awfully good job of it themselves.... in addition look at the qualifications for an elder as laid out in 1 timothy... with these words in mind, it seems to me the gb have since disqualified themselves.... 1 timothy 3:1-7 .
1 it is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
2 an overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,.

Jehovah`s Witnesses in australia are a minority sect outside of mainstream religion with some unorthodox beleifs,eg:
No blood transfusions
No involvement in politics
No xmas
no easter
no birthday celebrations
None of their children to be involved in competitive sports at school
Discourage higher education
Do not criticize those taking the lead over you
Do not criticize the organization
Obey obey obey
Beleive every word we say ,even when we are proved wrong, beleive we are right
New light is not because we were wrong in what we said didn`t eventuate ,it`s because what eventuated wasn`t what we said ???what eventuated
Lying is nothing more than theocratic warfare,theocratic warfare is nothing less than lying ,ethical conduct,truth has nothing to do with it,what we tell you is gospel,so dont even argue about it ,or you will be either disfellowshiped or disassociated from the true congregation of jehovahs witnesses which by the way doesn`t even exist in victoria or even in australia

by AK - Jeff insince leaving all organized religion, all superstition, all acceptance of deity, i have a terrible time truly understanding 'religious' thought.. i really do.. how is it possible for thinking people to just accept, without proof, all they accept?
this morning i overheard a conversation between two christians in a coffee shop.
they say to me 'dad, what's wrong with just being a nice, good person?

Why would the Judeo/christian God select a minority group to lead to salvation ,excluding the rest of mankind

What about the religous beleifs of India

"" " " the Chinese
" " " the Aborigines ( AUST)
And we can go on & on,why is "God" so selective of one nation and so dismissive of all other nations that he so called ,into being,or is he in fact just a figment of our imagination

by serenitynow! inso an apostabuddy wanted to stage a silent protest at the assembly hall where she was baptized.
we went today.
the plan was to wear these apostate t-shirts that had stuff printed on them about thinking for yourself, and a bunch of websites.

Disassociation Question ?
by smiddy inmy querry is : if you disassociate yourself from a congregation,do they send you a letter confirming this action ?
and if not, and it`s read out at a meeting that you took this action are you able to get confirmation that you actually did this ?.
i know this may sound silly, but i dont recall doing this many years ago,as has been recently claimed by someone i contacted.. smiddy.

Thanks for your response,I do recall being visited by an elder and another I cant remember in 1994 ? And I did tell them then verbally I didnt want anything to do with the religion of jw`s anymore.
So maybe that was all it took
