No one has thought to mention the 10,000 or so dubs who committed de-facto suicide by refusing blood and blood products. Or the unknown number who died because they were forbidden to accept vaccinations or organ transplants.

They are both thoroughly dishonest. A professor friend of mine asked another well-known humanities professor friend of mine who also happens to be an expert on dubs to review only ONE chapter of Stafford's "Jehovah's Witnesses Defended." My friend offered this professor good MONEY to do it, too. My professor friend declined. He has no time to deal with crap, even though is is very interested in dubs and dub issues. He and I went to dinner instead. We had a ball and laughed about that whole idea.

it was regarding the prophecies of jeremiah re: rejection of ancient israel.. question i asked myself "could jehovah ever reject modern day spiritual israel?".

If he DID accept them in the first place, then he is pretty stupid. Then again, he was pretty stupid for supporting a culture for thousands of years because some guy was willing to kill his Son at his own orders. That Father was pretty stupid, the Nation he backed was pretty stupid, too. Therefore, God is pretty stupid if one believes in the Bible stories. God simply makes bad decisions and even worse, he kills a whole bunch of people because he made those bad decisions in the first place.

Go figure it out. I can't.

i recently picked up the nasty habit of smoking.

i have been hiding it from my wife for about a month now,(she is still a witness) to make a long story short i only smoke when i drink and go to the casino.

in lake charles well she busted me and was actually nice about it and said it would be our secret as long as i did not bring them in the house are ever smoke around the kids.. sounds like she might be comming around maybe, i only hope.. anyway i had to tell someone.

I recently heard this syllogism:

Assertion: "Humans who eat meat claim that they get their best source of protein from eating animals like cattle."

Assertion: "Cattle are a source of protein, and all they eat is vegetation."

Conclusion: "Vegetation provides all the protein we need. Cattle meat is merely the provider of that original protein that first came from plants."

I was a lacto-ovarian vegetarian (being a true vegan was just too much to ask of me: I still ate milk products, eggs and fish) for three-and-a-half years but went back to being a meat-eater for two reasons:

1) My former wife and I decided that by becoming vegetarians we did not have the right to impose the same on our children, and so gave them the choice of joining us, or not. They said "NO!" They wanted MEAT! She therefore had to cook TWO separate meals each evening for us all. The veggie meals got boring and she lost interest in being creative about the food she was offering for the two of us, so we both went back to the horrors of prime rib, rib-eyes, pork loins and other terrible foods.

2) I came to realize that my ancestors didn't fight long and hard for people like me to rise to the top of the food-chain to eat stuff at the BOTTOM of the food-chain! (Tongue-in-cheek, here!)

I've heard arguments about vegetables being "incomplete" protein, whereas meat is "complete" protein and I've heard counter-arguments about that, too.

While I'm waiting for you chemists to enlighten me, I think I'll chaw on a hunk of meat from a deal animal.

In short my question is: "Can a plant which might not contain protein, be converted to protein in an animal which is in fact a source of protein?" If so, how does protein get created then?

As for eating blood, I will never do that. I'm certain it doesn't taste very good.

As for as having a transfusion of blood, I will never do that, either. I couldn't afford to have one.

So, as for me, I will die without ever having taken another's blood into my body.

I wish I could just have a blood transfusion, though, if for nothing else than to raise the big middle finger to those Pharisaic liars in Brooklyn.

I'll let God sort it out if I ever get one, and should I get the chance to confront him before being sent to eternal oblivion, I would just ask him this one question:

"Why will you doom me for eternity because you consider a "symbol" of life to be more important than the actual LIFE that "symbol" represents? Why do you respect and honor symbols more than the very life you created, God"

If he sends me to hell/hades/whatever, then he is as big a jerk as his Watchtower Representatives are, and I will be glad to take his punishment. I will go with my middle finger raised high to this idiocy.

i know that sometimes jw's on this board do not show that, but it goes the same with some ex-jw's too.. am i going against wt counsel?

yes, but i am willing to pay the price to help my fellow man, specially if i see that they blinded by resentment and are going contrary to jehovah's will.. why does the wt give the counsel to stay away from site such as this?

Name ONE actual example of ANYONE on this board who "hates" JWs. I certainly don't. Hating the actions of the leaders of JWs is far different that hating JWs themselves, although their leaders like to say hating them means hating their doting followers. It's simply not true.

i guess even with my atheistic leanings, deep down, i knew this day would come.

i feel a bit melancholy, mildly sick, excited for the future, and out of control.. all of our apostate ramblings have had their place.

we've done all we could, we were not silent.. i'm buckled in, this earth is moving apace, it is out of my hands completely, i am at peace....yet.... the prospect of the heavens opening up on these people i spent so much time with....well, i'm crying a bit here... now.

"Husbands" ain't your problem, my good friend. I am fascinated with you. You have a husband, and I don't mess with other's relationships. Ask God what is right. God might know and he might tell you what to do. Maybe not. I am not a marriage-wrecker kind of guy. Jerk? Yes. Do I take a few test drives now-and-then. Test drives are sparse these days, but fun when they happen! I'm a GUY! But I NEVER mess with married women. My former wife messed around with a married guy who was 11 years younger than her, divorced my sorry ass, married that sucker and it messed her and our children up. I will never do what she did. Sometimes folks get lucky and marry their soul-mate. This is rare.

God may talk to you Shelby, but he doesn't talk to me. He doesn't give a shit about me and probably doesn't even like me. If he did give a shit he could pop in and say "Hi!" from time-to-time. He has hever done that. It's pretty crappy in life if even God doesn't like you. God doesn't like me. He won't talk to me like he does to you. He doesn't call me a "dickhead." He doesn't call me anything. If God would have taken the time out of His day to just speak to me and say "Farkel, you ARE a dickhead!'" then I would be impressed.
