Punishment
by Sasha ini believe i get punished or at least compensated for certain things.
for example, it seems any reward from god to me is followed by a punishment of some sort.
(ie: i finally get the disability i've been fighting for for 4 years and finnaly get it and my 6 year cat died) stuff like that...

Has anyone noticed?
by DazedAndConfused ini was reading truthseeker's post's about the summer convention.
s/he kept saying that the convention this year is focused on jesus.. i have been watching and comparing what is being said here and the things presented by the botchtower babble society, both in the local meetings and the assemblies/conventions.
it seems to me, without actually looking up post's, that what is presented to the r&f follows what is challenged here in jwd by a week/month or two.. for a quick example, this particular convention is speaking about jesus.... a lot.

In the past few months it has been observed that Jesus has been ignored in meetings/assemblies/conventions. Now it is addressed. Like I said, without going back and linking thoughts here with what has been presented in their indoctrination at the sales meetings, it seems that within weeks or months that they address what is said in here.
Wouldn't surprise me. That's how cults work, they don't argue to prove their beliefs or doctrines, they go the opposite way. They find out what the latest argument is about them then make up a load of crap(tower) to discredit the argument. Makes them appear inspired and connected to god in turn keeping their masses brainwashed.

the fact that jesus has appeared in almost every talk title suggests that the society is once again morphing its tactics to persuade more persons that they arent an old testament cult but an alternative christian denomination.. i repeat my previous assertion that there is a manipulative intelligence at work here.
no ordinary person could possible have such foresight and such knowledge of human behavior to think and write the things these watchtower writers do.

Yes. I don't buy the 'war on terror', I do believe there is much more to it than that. It's been 4 years in Iraq and the situation there is worse than ever. Before the coalition invaded (including Australia) Iraq did not pose a threat to the western world. The war changed that, you can guarantee for every 'terrorist' stopped, plenty more are popping up to take their place.
If Bush uses nuclear weapons on Iran on what basis will the be on? Nuclear weapons? Wasn't WMDs the reason for going to war on Iraq? That and the supposed connections between Saddam and 911? Both turned out to be lies, and they knew there were no WMDs (again including our governement) there are a lot of companies making money on this war (as already pointed out above). I believe money to be the real motive.

Who is your favorite animated cartoon character?
by gaiagirl inmy favorite would have to be marvin the martian (first appearance 1948).
everything about him cracks me up, from his roman gladiator helmet and kilt, to the way he walks and speaks ("that makes me angry, very angry indeed"), to the ultra cool devices he uses (suprisingly, from acme, who apparantly has outlets on mars).
a very close second, almost a tie, would have to go to droopy (first appearance 1943), who also walks and speaks in a humorous manner, and who has abilities far beyond what would be expected from his dimunitive size.
