Yeah... cause if it's atheists pointing out the wrongful behaviour of a christian, it's automatically bullying.

Mother Teresa attacked by Atheist/Anostic group -
by james_woods inwhile i am no fan of mother teresa after reading some of the revealed facts about her life and work - i thought this was just a little out of the realm of polite conversation (but was interesting):.

It's been a while, just popping in
by Nosferatu inthere's probably a lot of people here who don't remember me.
the short of it is i was dragged into the cult at the age of five, left at age 18 and have never looked back.. .
there really isn't much for jw issues affecting my life, although i had to give my mother shit for trying to indoctrate my child.

I Used To Hate Gays!

As an atheist I find myself stopping and considering the other person more. I never hated anyone as a JW, in fact I often envied the "worldies" and thought myself (in a round about way) to be not good enough for them. I guess... the part about everyone bar a certain group about to die a horrific and certain death got to me more than I realised at the time.

Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?
by booker-t ini have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.

Yep, I can re-call that. Sausages and meat pies were the two biggest ones to watch out for here. I remember in the 90's the dubs in my congregation refusing to buy a certain brand of meat pies after an Oz tv current affairs show brought up what's in the pies to up their protein content... one of them was plasma. Some over enthused members contacted this particular company and they said, confirmed this brand was using blood. So they took it upon themselves to warn everyone.

Looking to speak to current & ex-JWs in Australia
by nomoreklondikes inhope you don't mind me posting.
i'm a freelance writer, and am currently writing a story on the jehovah's witnesses church for a melbourne magazine.
i've spoken with an elder/spokesperson of a melbourne jw church, who explained the official positions of the church at length, but i'm really interested in getting more of a sense of the day to day experiences of jws, both current and former.

What's so Special About FREE Home Bible Studies?
by Ethos incontinuation of this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/242543/2/free-home-bible-study.
newyorker: the familiar observation that the bible is the best-selling book of all time obscures a more startling fact: the bible is the best-selling book of the year, every year.
calculating how many bibles are sold in the united states is a virtually impossible task, but a conservative estimate is that in 2005 americans purchased some twenty-five million biblestwice as many as the most recent harry potter book.

The whole point of that original thread was the Watchtower Society claims to be the only ones who offer to study the Bible with someone for free. They heavily imply no one will spend that time with someone without charging for it and they are unique by offering this time free of charge. They are not. Nothing to do with how many Bibles were sold.

non believers what if your wrong ?
by unstopableravens ini do not wish to debate anything here like i have said in the past i have much respect for most on this forum (believers and non believers) i am simply wondering if the atheist or non god believers every worry about what if your wrong?
it seems that many who were jw for so many years attach jehovah/yahweh with the watchtower and since the wt is wrong than god does not exist.
i ask this question only because i care about people and salvation thats why i want to help as many as possable come out of this cult, and since i truly believe in god i dont know what is in the cinscience of those who dont.

Lol! It was 3 am here when I replied and no... alone, sober and haven't touched weed in years.
Like NewChapter, an afterlife dosen't concern me at all. My feelings are that IF there is a God then ChristAlone has pretty much nailed it... it's our actions rather than our beliefs that he looks at (and yes CA, it's not so much we're sure you're wrong but certain you're not correct in the belief a a God).
I need coffee now.

I'll clarify. In my opinion, if there is a God then his laws would be revolved around what's best for the planet he created, those who live on it and keeping the whole thing going. Not a bunch of rules which have nothng to do with his "creation", but his own personal gratification. Doing good deeds is far more logical than following a particular religion (which is the right one btw? ).
Forget what you've been taught, forget the bible and think for a moment.

Well, I'd love to stay and chat but being an atheist I have an orgy, bottle of Jacks and a joint to get back to... later.
