At one time I thought I did.
However, I had not yet accumulated enough life experience to compare with behaving as 'one of Jehovah's Witnesses' by not questioning the self- professed authority of the WTBTS.

i say this because half the witnesses i knew never seemed to be into answering at meetings, preaching the good news, being united with others.you see when i got baptised which was about 2 years ago i was really into answering at meetings, preaching etc and guess what people in the hall thought there was something wrong with me,they would say things like youll get used to it, you wont be happy much longer, this made confused because i thought these people were really into what they did with there hearts.i was obviously wrong,i then started to wonder does going to meetings, preaching, etc really show your a true christian you know serving god with a whole heart, all these organised rules didnt really matter i thought, you see if these people had do bible research, arrange the preaching themselves do you think they would do it.i now believe that serving god through organisations doesnt really make you closer to god i think serving god on your own really shows ones heart condition and how much you love god.
p.s.
im not a" jw no more" and still working out religion etc, i do swear and lie now though lol

greetings - would some one please confirm that the aug 2002 km has the article entitled "display christian loyalty when a relative is disfellowshipped" i want to be accurate with my quotes in this letter.
speaking of which, i'm sending the below letter to my jw family - if you have time please let me know your thoughts -thanks - larry :).
to all my practicing jehovah witness family members:.
Well let me reassure you that I will NEVER come back to the organization, I see it for what it is and I dont want any part of it. The views that you are forced to live by only makes me resent the fact that I was ever associated with such an organization.
As good as your letter is as a vehicle for venting you're not dealing with normally rational persons so don't be surprised when the family members in question dismiss your comments quickly, such as with the quote above, as they've been trained.
Larry, you are now on a completely different 'wave-length', as far as perception of terminology, than they, and way over their heads. Meaning, how your family will interpret your message will be very different than the feelings you are trying to convey, if they actually get that far in the letter.
Do what you have to do.

i know a couple of sisters who have been canseled by the elders for wearing a little bit to short skirt.
i just wonder what serena's elders think when they see pictures of her like this in magazines.
is she still in good standing?
"I would like to thank my God, Jehovah, for giving me the strength to compete today..." Williams
Just like steroids, isn't the use of performance enhancing deities frowned upon by sport Associations because of the unfair advantage They create?

Any opinions?
Here's my opinion... http://www.leftbehind.com/retailers/retailers_sub.asp?loc_id=42 and revenue is tax free.

phil donahue debuted on msnbc tonight.
i entered his rant after it started, however, it was about the pledge of allegiance and jw's.
his guest is pat buchanan and phil is ranting about how great the jw supreme court decision was in 1942. he said the witnesses were persecuted for not pledging and that they were brave people.
He said the witnesses were persecuted for not pledging and that they were brave people.
If he actually said the above, I couldn't imagine how much braver Phil thinks the little boys and girls trapped in the Waco compound who faced the tanks, machine guns and ultimately the flaming propane because of THIER own years of unbiased and informed personal research.

sometimes when i think back about when i was a dub, i get a little embarrassed.
i remember telling my kids not to draw on watchtower mags (i also had to tell their mother) i was a grown man and would let nerd elders counsel me for dumb things, like saying the word luck, or bulletin board.
i remember getting to the end of the month and not having the cong average field service time and start to worry what the other elders and co would say.

You think you're embarrassed for falling for the self-professed authority of the WTBTS! Other than her marketing prowess, I was under the impression Madonna had talent!

most religions teach that we were born bad.
john lock believed we were born as a blank slate, neither good or bad.
later, psychologists studied humans, other primates, and other mammals.
So, I have to conclude that we were born good.
Larc, you may want to define 'good' and 'bad'.
For instance, studies have shown that during pregnancy if the Mother is malnourished there's a chance the child could be born with 'aggressive' tendencies. It is thought that this aggressiveness stems from our ancient ancestors during periods of environmental shock that helps the child, and eventually the adult, cope in an environment where competition for food may be extreme.
This manifestation of aggressiveness could cause a well-feed population to eventually find this combative behavior intolerable or bad, necessitating separation. Or the reverse, an aggressive society would view a non-combative personality as bad, a sign of weakness and ripe for oppression.
Think of countries such as, Somalia, Indonesia...East LA.
Of course, if you define 'born' as at the time of conception...wellthen there's genealogy to contend with.

my car has been in the shoppe for the past 2 days, so i've been making my way around town by riding the city bus.
i actually like it quite a bit, and it is good on the conscience knowing that i am not contributing to global warming by using a 3000 pound carbon dioxide spewing vehicle to haul my 140 pound ass around town.
i am going to continue riding even after i get my car back.. anyways, i got on the bus yesterday, and lo and behold, the driver was a watchtowerist from my last congo.
This is a dumb post,
Dan, I'll be the judge of whether I find your posts dumb or not.
I liked the one in question...thanks for sharing!

things must be getting pretty desperate.
i just heard some wonderful news of another boy being appointed a ministerial servant.
the comment was that even though he is young, he is very mature.another person, speaking of a different boy being appointed said that he had the added advantage of being home schooled and that really helped him to mature.
Things must be getting pretty desperate...appointing 17year old boys.
Well not exactly. Only until they (WTBTS Corporation) start appointing 45 year old women with a proven track record, into leadership roles within the congregation, will the WTBTS be deemed desperate.
