after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.
i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.
Since I have left things have been even more turbulent, with severe shunning, and arguements with my wife.
Toe’, I respect the courage you’ve shown, that only a Jehovah’s Witness could understand.
However, it should be emphasized, as your above quote highlights, when and how you did what you did is not necessarily for everyone because of the insidiously destructive mindset the Society imposes on family, friends and associates in the effort to protect its own corporate monolith.
Lest we forget, these guys from Brooklyn have had a long illustrious history of playing hardball with our lives so if you can’t do the ‘time’, think real hard about whether one should do a similar ‘crime’.

well, i've finally had it.
i'm da'ing myself, along with a piece of my fam.
the unbaptised ones are refusing to go with my father now, and even my still devout father is leaning towards our opinion on things.. there wasn't even any screaming when i called the jw's the great hypocrisy last nite.. i just can allow myself to be associated with them in any way.
Ashi', you and yours have a lot of catching up to do, let it begin today.
Oh...and welcome to the club, you've just passed your initiation.

i remember one sunday sitting in the kingdom hall and, out of the blue (after looking at one of those most dreadful pictures of armageddon), sincerely asked my mother, "where are we going to go?".
my mother frankly stated, "we'll all just gather here at the kingdom hall and god's angels will protect us!"..
i continued by asking, "what's going to happen to all the dead bad people?".
Welcome Speechless, misnomer from now on!

in the last 6 months the following has happened.
un involvement rocks the society.
leaks from the elders school.
Nope, the Kids in Brooklyn will be around for along time.
Although comparisons between Enron and the WTBTS are quite similar neither has any evidence of a spiritual or cosmic connection.
However, unlike the trusting shareholders of Enron the WTBTS actually has significant tangible assets that it can rely on during a downturn.
I suspect, even if the 'love of the greater number (Jehovah's Witnesses) should cool off' and leave, the corporation could chug along quite nicely on its assets.

most of us now laugh at the witnesses, but i think compared to some others they are quite reasonable ( notice i said compared).. so which religion has the most crazy beliefs.. i dont have much knowledge of these religions but i'll mention what i know , feel free to add your own points or correct me if i'm wrong.. i'll start with.. mormons,.
believe jews migrated to america.and that we are angels on earth being tested.. monnies,.
believe rev moon is jesus on earth.they also use (missuse) quatum physics to prove their beliefs.. scientology,.
Which is the most ridiculous religion?
Actually, any religion makes a lot of sense...when you're the one in control of writing the cheques.

i figured it was about time i spoke up...i da'd myself october 2000 after reading several experiences here on the net and after doing some of my own research i came to the conclusion that i had been "sucked" in.
i have lost a great many friends including my best friend of 18 years who by the way i "converted"..hows that for a kicker?..yep..wants nothing to do with me now...anyways...i just found this article on msn's website and thought you may enjoy reading it... jen.

Welcome aboard!
Interesting site, thanks!
My first thought on the BW article was, perhaps we would rather attribute radical life threatening behavior by individuals and groups to brainwashing than having to admit we're surrounded by more pathologically disingenuous aggressive individuals and corporations, religious or otherwise, who're leading the congenital, self-serving, cold-blooded follower, than we'd care to imagine.
At least if they're brainwashed maybe they can be 'fixed'.

this year i have learned so much and what i keep being taught repeatedly through experience this time instead of what someone tells me, is that much of what the society taught us about the world and many of the things in it is pure nonsence!.
i'm just giving one example for now even though there are many.. my son who is in elementary school has over a period of time expressed a desire to do something extracurricular.. oh the shame!!!.
now out of all the different things out there we chose karate.. jws frown on this because its a form of self defence, a competitive sport and they have labeled it and all martial arts in fact as demonized.. he is learning shotokan karate.he loves it and not one demon or demonized thing has happened so far and never will.. in fact i like what they are teaching my son.. this saying is on the wall of the school or dojo,.

i have always been into self-help, have several websites devoted to it ( http://www.empowerthespirit.com), and even wrote a book on it.. now i'm getting my board certified master of clinical hypnotherapy certification, and i'm excited!
i went to a hypnotherapist in the past, and found it helpful.
i started looking in to it last week and found an excellent place to get my certification, http://www.hypnosiseducation.com/.. now, you are not going to believe this!
My eyes are closing...I'm getting sleepy...my head feels heavy...heavier........it's....falling.....towards...my

As long as the youngster doesn’t compromise weekend ‘field service’.
I find it absolutely appalling that Brooklyn would frown upon anyone standing up to use a microphone and displayed lyrics to entertain yourself or others by singing your heart out while accompanied by taped music.
Simply dreadful…speaking of dreadful, after all isn’t the singing done almost the same way at conventions!
