  JW becoming normal religion

  am i wrong or is there a trend to make the wt to a normal religion?

  first they gave up to predict who the new king of the north is.

  then they stopped predicting the end of the world.

  I was the one that invented that line when going door to door.

  I felt announcing that I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses detracted from my presentation of the Watchtower and Awake!.

  To stave off uncomfortable silence, I've also used the line when meeting a householder from school or work; I was visiting on behalf of the 'Watchtower Binder & Tractor Society'.

  Oh...I also invented the triangle tear in the plastic coffee cup lid that allows you to drink coffee while driving and not spill as much.

  Unfortunately I didn't patent the design; otherwise I'd now have as much money as the Borg Corporation.

  If the Borg were ‘normal’…they’d lose the advantage of owning a niche market and would eventually have to revert to living off their investment returns and donations.

  Wait a second!…that is 'normal'. :)

  Dateline discussed openly in our congregation

  yesterday, the presiding overseer (elder h) read the letter from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses (us branch) regarding their policy on child abuse.

  all scriptures were also looked up and read.. elder h is a very prepared brother.

  he is a gilead graduate and served as a missionary for about 7 years in kenya before coming home because of illness.

  we always hear the muslims such as osama bin laden, prayed for september 11, and always say more destruction will come to america and jews "god willing" but god is not willing, so besides for the devil, why does their prayers come true for them?

  Prayers! who needed prayers… Given the apparent tranquil condition of airport security during early September 2001 a determined gaggle of grandmothers could have accomplished what Ackmed and his merry band of airborne ‘rugriders’ did to the north end of New York Bay.

  In fact, security appeared so lax prior to 9/11, if you had enough Airmile points on some cards, you could’ve traded them in for a session on a commercial airline flight simulator. I doubt the offer is available today.

  Madmen with organizational abilities want the impressionable to attribute their simple yet destructive deeds to imaginary actions of ones perception of God, that’s what gives them the control.

  Wake up and sniff the java, yum'…this is the 21st Century for Gods sake! :)

  what is everyone's vacation plans?

  in aug we are going to disneyworld and in november we will be going back to east africa for another safari.. .

  last year we went to ngorongoro crater and lake manyara in tanzania and the masai mara region in kenya.

  Gee! that's great Dev'! What a coincidence, we're trying to do something similar...planning on asking COMF if we can have his permission to camp out in his new backyard for a couple of days...I figure if he didn't want drop-in's, he wouldn't have posted a picture of where he lived.

  Life is a funny ol' thang

  yesterday, my ex husband and i took our 9 year old daughter to camp for the first time.

  delaney was bouncing off the walls with excitement, mom and dad were secretly dreading the departure while smiling and acting happy for her sake (we're good at that .

  once we checked her in, we had to hike thru the woods to her bunk and i am talking woods here!

  He Loves Me After All!

  this is a story about the heart-pounding rollercoaster ride of buying a house and how i saw the proof that god really does love me.. some of you, especially newer ones, probably don't know that when i left the organization in 1987, i left still believing that the organization was the true religion, which meant, since i couldn't stay in it and keep my sanity, that jehovah didn't want me.

  after 12 years of trying as sincerely as is possible to get his help with what was wrong, i gave up and quit, and literally prayed to jehovah saying, "it's obvious that you don't intend to help me; therefore i can only assume you don't want me.

  DATELINE: BLACK ART OF PROPAGANDA

  hardly anyone has an honest opinion about anything of importance that wasnt craftily pre-packaged and handed to them by someone else whose job it is to craft public opinion.

  the intention of the media is to present the illusion of impartially informing, all the while pandering to prejudice and ignorance in order to persuade to a particular point of view.

  datelines presentation of the watchtowers child abuse issue was a case study in the black art of media propaganda.. from the very beginning of the presentation dateline was intent on giving the public a negative impression of jehovahs witnesses by portraying us all as oddball crackpots whose religion revolves around the doctrine that we dont celebrate birthdays and that all non-believers are possessed by the devil and that we want them all to die.

  the angry person opening the door during "field service".

  i think the "do not call" list is about to get a tad longer.. another problem, associated with the issue of victims within the organization, is that the public is now in jeopardy of contact with unreported pedophiles.. whether the jehovah witnesses like it or not, the box that they live in still resides in within our communities.

  Reason with them that by taking such publications, that they are supporting an atrocity…Maybe after a few months and profits are down…

  Unfortunately, D’ I’m not certain it works that way. Very little currency is made actually ‘selling’ the Watchtower and Awake! or whatever, to the householder, whatever.
  
  The ‘publisher’, or significant ‘publisher’ with the cash, such as a Dad or Mom for example, donates cash for the mags, for the kids and themselves or the pet parrot ‘pining for the fjords’.
  
  If there happens to be fewer ‘publishers’, those remaining will be encouraged to order more WTBTS printing press fodder and obliged to take up the slack ‘donation’ wise.
  
  Regardless of whether the publications are for personal use and eventually end up in a Laundromat or the trash, the WTBTS systematically collects Jehovah’s cash, tax-free.
