  Mysterious' xmas!

  my boyfriend and i actually got a tree this year.

  decorated it with blue/purple/silver ball oraments, blue snowflake led lights, white mini lights, tinsel, a blue/silver tinsel garland, purple ribbon, purple tree skirt.

  i was so excited to actually get a tree this year and decorate it like a family.

  Nice Tree! A nice tall one too...just what I'm looking for tomorrow.

  I'm putting up my first real tree this year too.

  The last two years I've this trio of little table-top artificial trees due to having a toddler in the house, but now that he is 4, I think we can handle it.

  Plus I'm tired of my sister mocking my tree display, so I went crazy at the clearance sales last year and plus I went to Ikea and bought a HUGE amount of ornaments. Let the decorating begin!

  Congrats to both of us on having our first "real" trees this year!

  Anyone getting snow?

  it just started to snow here at around noon.

  I'm trapped at home! Help me!

  We had snow early this morning to my son's delight, "it's snowing it's snowing! it's so beautiful!" me: "grumble grumble, I hope it melts soon!"

  I had already planned on decorating today, so we turned on the Christmas music and started unloading boxes. This will be our first Xmas with a real tree.

  The snow did melt, I thought I had better get out and run some errands, but before I got everything around to leave...it started snowing again.

  We now have a lovely 3+ inches and I'm hoping it stops soon. Although I can drive in the snow, I have a car that can't and way too many hills where I live so we just keep putting up more decorations and singing Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer!

  Munchkin did get a chance to play in the snow, so I'm not such a terrible mommy :)

  I have never forgotten the day two members called at our home.

  although i am not a member of the jehovah witnesses, in the past, two members called at our home, and a conversation started.

  i have never forgotten that day, and so that is the reason for my visit.

  okay, my parents became witnesses when i was 3 or 4. i remember them both getting baptized together.

  i have 3 little ones and they were all 2.5 years apart at that time.

  I'm addicted to Pandora!

  yep, free internet radio...you create "stations" by entering a favorite artist or song...it searches its huge database and finds similar artists and/or songs, and tells you why it selected them.

  very, very cool...right now i'm listening to a kicka$$ station based on buddy guy's "damn right i've got the blues" song...highly recommended for music freaks like me; you'll discover a lot of new artists.. .

  Me too! and welcome (eta: back) to the board, by the way.

  I usually listen while I play WoW...which makes for some interesting music and action combinations.

  I need to work on organizing my stations a bit better and combining a few artists so I don't have so many.

  I haven't been a big music person in the past but I'm hooked on Pandora and finding things I never even knew were out there.

  Having a crush for many years on best friend's older brother

  Sitting by friends at the meetings, a relief from the boredom

  Going to eastern Washington to get Bing Cherries every year, eating them until you never wanted to see another one...until the next year

  Giant bowls of popcorn along with the Wonderful World of Disney and/or Mutal of Omaha's Wild Kingdom

  Friday night dinners at my aunt and uncle's house and watching the Donny and Marie show afterwards

  The joys of discovering the many different colors and flavors of lipgloss, Bonne Bell anyone?

  Besides, nothing like telling a BIG group of people that you are trying to lose weight to help keep you focused!

  I started Weight Watchers 8 weeks ago and have been happy with it so far. Plus, I look at my weekly meeting as some cheap therapy for only $9.22 per week.

  I just made Caregiver of the Year!!!

  i went to a holiday party at work today and was totally surprised to win the "caregiver of the year" award.

  i work as a cna for an elder care agency and have been there 9 months.

  but i have more than 15 years experience with the elderly.. anyway, several of my clients wrote in letters to our corporate offices to explain why i should win the award.

  What a wonderful day for you! It's great that they gave you the letters along with the award. It's not to often we get to hear how appreciated we are for what we are and do.

  My grandmother has 3 rotating caregivers and I know they have a tough job dealing with her cranky old self! I'm just so grateful that there are people like you that are capable and happy to do the job of looking after the elderly.

  yep that's right and it was cash....and i took him to dinner too....what a blast.

  my son has been a real pain in the @ss for years, but i love him to death and know that tons of his problems were jw related.

  i am a recent fade remember and was a little worried dubs would be at the place when the wait staff sang happy birthday and all.

  Very cool Oompa! It can only be a good feeling to give your son a helping hand especially as it was a surprise and not requested. I sometimes wonder which way my life would have gone if my parents had shown me that kind of support at that age.
