  these are sincere questions directed to any who have first-hand knowledge.. i am new here, so i apologize if #2 is inappropriate for this board.. 1. how was it decided to ban 4 major blood components, rather than all or none?.

  2. how is counsel on oral sex applied?

  (judicial cases, behind-the-scenes, experiences?).

  Remember that blood was banned in the old law because the life, the soul was in the blood. Well, the WTBTS has apparently figured out exactly which components of blood the soul is in and you can't have those components transfused. All the rest is up for grabs.

  What other explanation can there be?

  Don't know about the oral sex stuff. My wife and I did whatever the hell we wanted to do and just ignored the bastards.

  Mistakes? Like, you mean, errors, as in faults? They don't make any. If they apologized, that would mean that they are responsible adults, and we all know better than that. They be jus' using old light, slightly stale. Sort of like a hurricane lantern. It might be dim, but it's still light. An' nend, an' nend, seee, when the good stuff come along, well, it jus' replace the ole stuff. Mistakes? Are you crazy?

  They DID say that, regarding 1975, it was a "natural enough mistake to make." And that was it. Fini. End. Over. Zip.

  Arguing with JW's

  can anyone recommend a book that point by point shuts down all of jw's beliefs?

  my dad has all of the org's lessons memorized and i need something to help me stand up for myself.

  i'm hoping the book will be recent & encompass the changes made (1914, voting, etc.).

  It's pointless to argue scripture with a JW. They think they've got a special slant and understanding on everything and can slime around any argument. I've found it's much better to challenge them in areas where they're vulnerable.

  1. The nature of the God they worship: a primitive, tribal god that has every human failure writ large.

  2. The impossibiity of comporting that god with the father that Jesus described.

  3. Get to know, inside and out, Hoffer's "The True Believer" about the psychological makeup of cults and cult followers and apply what you learn to the JWs. Believe me it fits like a glove.

  4. Get a list of ALL the failed prophecies of the JWs. It's on the net and it's huge. Harp on that in combination with Deut 18:22.

  This will work better than trying to shut them down on their ingrained arguments.

  Internet Security Update

  a while back i noted that i was having many hacking attemts along with back door trojans being submitted to my pc.

  this number has continued to be about 15 to 20 per day.

  i mentioned it again today in another post.

  Dateline program?

  before i became a registered poster here, i was reading someone's post that mentioned an upcoming dateline program that was possibly dealing with the org.

  can someone tell me if this is true and if it is when does it air, or did i already miss it?.

  "plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

  It's real hard to explain why a grown man is getting his kicks with an eight year-old girl. Or boy. Or goat.

  I suspect there will be all kinds of rationalizations and excuse-making. And those who are so inclined can believe it and most likely will.

  But the general public who has no such inclination will never buy it.

  Let 'em try to explain pedophillia away. Men and women who are incarcerated after conviction of pedophillia have to be kept segragated from the general prison population (murderers, rapists, armed robbers, litterers) because they won't tolerate a child molester in their midst. Lucky them.

  Uncle Elder Comes To Town

  on the way to work mom mentioned that her brother uncleb(elder in another state) is coming to visit and stay with her for a bit.. seems like his best and long time friend co sal infantino is taking a short vacation from the 'circuit work' and is going to be here at the same time.

  of course they have time planned together.. what i found interesting is that i have been invited over to 'talk' with him???

  ?hmmmmmmmmmm considering that up until now i have persona non grata during his visits.. any suggestions how i can slip some silentlambs and other info into his suitcase?

  Hey Tina:

  Have you considered getting one of those MP3 recorders, the kind that records hours of stuff solid-state with no tape? They can be had fairly inexpensively. One model I've seen looks just like a fountain pen. Or you can get one that's about the size of a cigarette pack. I used mine out in the open so they would behave themselves. They did.

  It's truly amazing what a little ol' tape recorder can do.

  That doesn't sound like the Ray I know, either. And as far as I know, the Commentary Press IS Ray. I haven't spoken with him in some time however and there's no telling what kinds of changes have come about in the interim.

  And, um, fair use is fair use and what constitutes fair use isn't dictated by a publishing firm. If there's a conflict in opinion about that, it must be resolved by a court.

  Why don't you call Ray in Winston, GA and see what's up?
