Help With Cancer Treatment
by andrej inmy dad is a jw and has recently been diagnosed with chondrosarcoma (type of bone cancer), the oncologist says the only way to treat this is to cut off his leg and part of his pelvic bone.
since he will not accept blood transfusion, the doctor will not perform the surgery because of the high risk of him not making it through the surgery.
he has found an alternative doctor that has given him a lot of hope and started him on a natural chemo, various vitamins and a nutritional plan.

Researching JW family history - help!
by odie inmy grandfather and grandmother were married in 1910. my grandfather became involved with the church in 1911, but my grandmother refused.
they had 4 children all forced to attend against their will until the time that my grandfather had no choice but to accept their refusal.. old family notes have my great grandparents also involved when the members were called bible students.. being unfamiliar with the practices i have a number of questions that i am hoping someone may be able to answer.. isn't it unusual to have one spouse following this faith while the other rebels?
with my grandfather forcing his children to attend, does this usually mean they were baptized and became members?

All the shunning business came later into the witnesses so-called theology. I'd suggest the best place to start turning over rocks would be at the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society in Brooklyn, NY. If any records exist, they would be there. Not in the congregation in which your ancestors lived. Not unless you could find some really old geezer types who might still be alive. Go to the Sunday meeting and see who turns up. They'll welcome you, I'd say, if there is the faintest glimmer that you might join up.

I have been told at various times that I look like Robert Wagner in his younger years (mine too) and also like William Holden, also in our younger days. I don't buy either one. I'm just me.

but how about persons of mixed parentage, are they considered to be black too?.
how about my son's old girl friend whose grandmother was from the phillipines, is she black because her skin had a slight (and very beautiful) brownish glow that came from her ancestor?.

I think it's got to do with a combination of fried chicken (wid jalapeno peppers on the side) and watermellon if you love that, you be black. AND, if you love a woman who loves that and she's black of course, then you are an honorary black. Say I love Orbiting the Sun, then I'm an honorary black, but I gotta love fried chicken and all the rest, too, see? It's simple once you understand it. And you ain't gotta be from no Africa neither.

The Day of Reckoning Approaches
by Amazing inthanks to all of you who are sending me information so far.the attorney will get back with you, they are extremely busy because this is a full time project.again, don't qualify information you have, even hearsay is good ... not because it will be used in court, but it helps greatly with gathering initial evidence and following leads.
what seems like minor information has already helped to get a serious case to the courts.i will be pm'ing those who have yet to respond to my inquiry regarding the jw pedophile poll.
please review and respond ... even if you did not originally participate ... all information is vital no matter how unimportant you think it is.finally ... there is a day of reckoning coming ... it should take place in the near future, perhaps in a week or two ... and as i can i will release details ... some of this is going to surprise you, .

Jehovah's Witnesses disclose a great deal more social dysfunctions than do other groups. Within the JWs we find more spousal abuse, more child sex abuse, more drug abuse and more alcohol abuse. It isn't recognized quite so much among the witnesses because the "floor" or tolerance for alcohol is already quite high due to the acceptance of alcohol in the bible.
Read some of the works of Dr. Gerald Penton to see just how much more dysfunctional the typical JW family is in this and other regards.
Being a JW in an upper east Tennessee dry county was an eye opener for me back in the late 50s and early 60s. The length the JWs went to obtain and consume beer was eye-opening indeed.
Do a number of JWs have a drinking problem? Yes, a GREAT number do. Then there is a great number who are accomplished oenophiles as well.

Aztec, and the rest of you OCD types,
There's treatment for that, you know. My wife - soon to be ex - has it too. I credit at least about 50% of our split on her OCD. It's not a harmless dysfunction, y'know.

Falling In Love With Love.
by Englishman ini've often noticed that when 2 people fall in love, they appear to regress back to little babies.
they snuggle up, look into each other's eyes, murmur sweet nothings, why they even call each other "baby"!
plus they go all orally focused just like babies.. so is falling in love a "going back"?

Men have a terrible reputation of talking only about themselves. I have turned that around to very good effect. I only talk about the woman I'm talking with. I don't allow her to turn the conversation to me for but a minute at a time and then we're back to her. It's just like Malt Liquor advertised by what's his face - "It works every time."
