Alan:
Great piece of work. Very well done. Honor is due.
Your essay underlines once again that the Hebrews and their god were tribal savages unworthy of emulation even at the time of Jesus life, much less two thousand years after him.
Always it seems that the old religion serves as scaffolding in the development of the new. So Christianity was achieved by climbing the scaffolding of the olden Hebrew tribal law and custom - and still it lingers with us today, including the concepts of the manlike god concept called Jehovah.
And this IMO is just why so many fanciful Christian interpretations of NT codes of worship, morality, and ethics have been offered. It's mighty hard to comport these old, barely sprititual, tribal mores, morals, ethics, and religious practices with the exponentiating spirituality of Jesus.
In attempting to make the transition from the Hebrew tribal religion to the religion of Jesus seamless, twisted organizations like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Moonies, and others pop up all over the empire.
Once again, that was a fine piece of work Alan.
