This position taken by the WTBTS discloses the same lack of compassion, insight, or understanding that the rest of their bullshit positions display.

Forever is a long time to live anywhere. If the WTB&TS can't get conceptualizing a hundred years down, how on earth will they ever conceive of eternity?
I frankly don't believe that we were meant to live an immortal life on a paradise earth. I think we were meant to live an immortal life as spirits throughout an infinite universe. Now, THAT would be an adventure! That would require an immortal life!
And that would also mean we would have to evolve, yes evolve, from an animal-origin being of physical evolution into a perfecting spirit of universe dignity...a true child of God. And when we achieved that status as first-stage spirits, we really would have removed the "mark of the beast," the vestiges of our animal origins on a physical world.
Now that's something I could happily contemplate.

Hellz bellz, I've challenged the cowards to public debate and I assure you there would be massive amounts of "resisting" going on in any such debate if it were ever to occur.
So I'm torn.
If we're not to "resist evil" then what are we supposed to do with it? Are we to sit idly by while we know first hand the evil being practiced in the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses?
I guess I don't really understand the nature of the concept not to "resist evil." Isn't child sex abuse evil? Aren't we to resist it?

Anger, as we have come to know, is a secondary emotion. The primary emotion being fear. If we could figure out what TeeJay fears, perhaps we could assist his reformation. I really dislike seeing someone with a good intellect diffuse it through fear.

Zev, that was a thoughtful, well research and commented post. You really know how to do your homework, and I hope that newbies, lurkers, JW studies, and even a few JWs who have open minds will allow the simple truths in it to seep into their consciousness.
In your post, quoting the JWs, was this phrase, which was to characterized young people selected to testify, "...clean, moral, honest, but..." That BUT pretty much says it all, doesn't it? It's the point at which the society switches from saying the truth be told, to the point at which the society says the truth must be shaded, diluted, and TWISTED.
And I would also add that while, yes, the issue is one of double standards, I'd also say that it also goes far beyond that...it goes all the way to the basic honesty of the WTB&TS, which - as we can see from your post - is utterly lacking. The real issue here is the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses subornation of perjury, LYING UNDER OATH.
I can recall no instance of Jesus, in all his dealings with the Pharisees, Saducees, scribes, governors, and kings, ever taking a lawyerly approach to their attempts at trapping him. Never. He spoke the truth with out fear or favor; he spoke it with no hint of even the slightest turning of a hair to deceive; he spoke it honestly and plainly in simple language the could be understood by all.

since all baptised jehovah's witnesses are required to give loyal obedience to the watch tower society or f&ds, it's necessary to accept all the teachings of the organisation.. next time you're challenged by an elder as to whether you accept all the teachings of the organisation, you might like to refer him to page 262 of the daniel book.. there the "ships of kittim" are 'identified' as the ships of britain lying off the western coast of europe in ww1.

well i met my first witness (and it would have to be an elder who i always got on well with) last night after my disassociation 3 weeks ago and i was not prepared for how hard it felt.
i had the most human reaction of recognising someone i knew and had to stop myself saying hi.

And all this that you folks describe is coming from an organization that represents God. You know, God. The one about which Paul says "God is Love."
The JWs still worship the God of Horeb, the mightly thunderer, judge-accountant whom they cannot comport with the God of Love, the Father that Jesus revealed. And so they invented this God that has Multiple Personality Disorder. Now he's a God of Love; now he's gonna kill off most of the human race; now he's full of compassion; now he's gonna get you if you're the offspring of a bastard to the umpteenth generation; now he's forgiving. He's like snow: you never know what you're gonna get, you just know it's gonna be something.
Crazy gods make for crazy people, and the JWs are just like the god they worship. Crazy. Schizophrenic. They're dangerous, ultimately. Stay away from 'em. They're bad for you.
