  Ever joined a Quick build and got injured?

  21, i joined about 10-12 quick builds in norway.

  I was always in the kitchen during quickbuilds. My mom was one of the few women actually allowed to cook in the trailer. I was given dubious priviledge of cleaning the big boilers. I had to hang over the sides to reach the bottom and my sister had to pull on my legs to get me back out.
  
  I once picked up a metal serving spoon that had be left on top of the oven, it left quite a burn on my palm and fingers.
  
  My mom switched to nights, so we stayed up all night making the middle of the night snack and the early breakfast. Dozens and dozens of eggs. There was this old guy who worked with us and spent hours teaching my sister and I how to cook. He used to make this fabulous veggie broth from all the peels from the veggies used during the day. I really enjoyed going to quick builds.
  
  My last one was when I was 19 with my dad. We were assigned to do brick work. He got to lay bricks. I got to run coffee, mortar, bricks, cookies and anything else. I tripped and fell and pushed a newly laid section over. Not good.
  
  Then on the second day, the brothers asked my father to leave because he was not a baptized brother. All his friends were in that congregation and had invited him. We had taken time off work and travelled quite a distance to go. My father was mortified. I was furious. The brother who was studying with my dad at the time just about blew a gasket. He leaped in to our car and left all his stuff behind so that he could talk to my dad. To my knowledge I don't believe my father ever stepped foot in that hall after it was built. I removed myself from the quickbuild list although I would never have gotten very far not having a penis.

  STOP THE MADNESS....where is this board going?

  i've only posted since feb 07..but i have lurked for several years prior and there was usually something interesting on the board.

  as i was reading the active topics list this morning, only a couple things jumped out at me as interesting...its been this way since the dgate and tgate incidents.... i was discussing this with a long time poster via im yesterday....does it seem to anyone else that so many of the topics are ...i dont know....odd...or different than they used to be...and i dont mean that in a good way.. i miss the newbies coming on and telling us their stories.... i miss the long time posters updating us on their lives post-borg... i guess with the recent uproar, the lurkers are hesitant to become newbies (cant say as i blame them now...we probably scared them off , and maybe the vets are just as hesitant...after all, someone went 2 years with their fraud/hoax...who will believe anyone else now?

  i hope this is just a temporary cycle on this board..i have read many many posts from the archives...i hope one day soon we can get back to a happy medium here.. by the way, i like the fluff threads, but these seem to be more and more sex related (maybe that word will wake someone)... yet they get all the attention....and then someone goes too far and it gets locked down by a mod and the poster restricted......(i am not a prude...just sometimes enough is enough).

  On Being Discarded by the Love of Your Life Hasn't happened, yet...I keep thinking up new way to keep him coming home to me.

  On Getting on With Your Life I am trying to fill my time with activites I find enjoyable and fulfilling

  one of my cats has ruined my sleep for the last 2 weeks with incessant meowing from about 5am until i get up.

  said cat is now banished from my room so i can get uninterrupted sleep!.

  Another trick to get her to swallow the pill.
  
  When you have her wrapped up and the pill on the back of her tongue, Hold her mouth shut and gently blow on her nose. It causes the swallowing reflex.
  
  And for those who want to know how I found that out, A vet taught it to my family after trying to get our very smart dog to eat her pills.

  a brother from my old hall was giving the talk so my brother (who lives with me and has no idea how i feel) signed us up for hospitality.

  he and i had started out as friends a few years ago, but realized that we were attracted to each other while he was going through his divorce earlier this year.

  Trick or Treat anyone?

  is there anyone on the board who is celebrating halloween for the first time this year?.

  this is my 2nd halloween i am doing since leaving the borg (almost 4 years ago now), but it is the first time i am decorating the outside of my home as well as giving out candy.

  i hope some jdubs come by and work my street during the halloween season.

  This is our first year.
  
  Our kids are going as a wizard, a knight and a monkey.
  
  We are joining our friends to trick or treat in thier neighbourhood after we clean out ours.
  
  Don't worry Homer, we won't let the kids eat all the candy at once. If fact the way I control sweets in this house they'll prolly still be eating it next year.
  
  Also I'll wait until they are older to explain druids and sacrifices to them, and then,IF they want to, they can join us.
  
  Hummm, note to self, catch human sacrifice.
