Kind of off topic but Para will laugh at this story.
My Mother used to complain to me that none of his family used "Jehovah" in their prayers. She said it was a sign that they weren't really spiritual. I started paying attention and they do use god's name just not all the time.
FIL gives nice prayers.

Did you ever choke while offering prayer?
by Jourles inof all the times i was called upon to say prayer, i only remember choking once - but it was such a big choke i totally embarrassed myself for days on end afterwards.
and this one time wasn't even at the kh, it was in a home right before we were going to pre-study the wt.. there were roughly 3 elders, their wives, and some other close friends of mine in the living room.
i'd say there were around 10 of us total.

My youngest says "Sh*t" for sit and "F#*k" for truck. So listening to him playing is worse that hanging around the local hoodlums.
As Para says "Foul mouthed little boy isn't he?"

How to Ruin a Childhood
by WTWizard inhere is one effect of our going out in field circus, that they will not tell you about.
no, not the getting persecuted.
no, not that last-call syndrome where the last call takes forever.

I never really thought about the late meeting nights and how that affected my learning. I did pretty well in school until Mom started taking us to meetings on weeknights. Also no one noticed I couldn't read until grade two when the teacher told my mom. So much for the theory that witness kids read sooner than non Dubs.

I choked with anger once while offering a prayer before service.
The idiot brother who was there had his privileges taken away so the sisters had to do the service arrangement themselves. I figured being the youngest one there (18?) someone older would do the prayer.
Hell no, the self-richeous biddies thought I should even though the brother was a friend of mine and I was terribly embarrassed for him and pissed at him for even putting us in that position. Sorry Para but your mother was one of them and even ran out to the coat room to get the lovely rain hat for me to wear.
I think they couldn't decide if the brother should do the prayer or not and none of them wanted to take the chance on angering God or WTS or who ever.

None of us want to be like our parents. My mother should have been spade like a dog however good thing she wasn't cause I like being here. I take the good things from my parents and fight the bad. My mom was great at entertaining groups of kids. She would let us get as dirty as we wanted and never complained about the laundry. Now, I have the same policy, if the kids are clean after playing outside all day, they didn't have any fun.

I'll have to remember this for when my boys get older. I stayed at home for too long as well. My mother also made it impossible for me to leave by charging me so much to live at home I couldn't save any money.
I used to get so mad about spending what it would have cost to live on my own with all the freedom and space, to live at home under her thumb.
I hope my kids get a better deal out of life.

I think the powers that be are just trying to create a climate of fear and paranoia among rank and file so fewer will look outside the organization for anything.

LOL, I have started using a facial cream to help minimize the crowsfeet and laughlines.
Para and I are both on diets, although he is doing better than I am.

I love to garden. I also crochet and needlepoint. I like to read, sometimes to learn but mostly to relax. Para and I are also into online games.
This is all when we have time between three kids, career and the massive pile of laundry.
