For a moment I thought this was real!! Until I saw the list of actors. How about Mel Gibson for Bill's part?

the congregation i belong to is small and most of its territory is in the rurals.
there is one territory in particular that is some distance from the hall and so it does not get worked as often as the closer ones.
then he said: "i cant talk to you people, you dont believe in hell" .
That was a great story. It's all about respect, something most witnesses are in short supply of.

i love this forum.
at the moment, there are lots of people saying bad things about it.
i want to set the record straight.
This forum has been a godsend, (no offence to the nonbelievers.) Finding other people who thought as I did, felt the same guilt at never being good enough. Discovering that I wasn't the only one who dreaded door-to-door work and hated going to assemblies. Realizing that i wasn't the only person who kept asking myself "Why does everyone else in the congregation seem to be so involved, and I am just barely hanging on." Once i came here and learned about the UN issue, how we had been lied to, I was able to put things in perspective and move on.
Simon, thank you for being here.

well, i just got back from yet another summer ass-marathon.
seventeen hours of sitting in hockey arena seats that were made for three hour games, trying to stay awake, while not losing contact with my extremities.. needless to say, the program was dull and boring.
in fact, i'm not completely sure that they didnt just re-run last year's.
Dear German JW,

The light of my life was Brandon, a Sheltie. I had to put him to sleep in January, he was fourteen years old. We tried every thing to save him, he was being treated for kidney failure for over a year. It drained our savings account, but it was worth it to keep him comfortable till the end. I'm crying so hard right now, I miss him so much. He was a beautiful dog, my little boy.

it's a difficult thing, once having been a member of the elite, the chosen few, hand-picked by the almighty never to die, to wake up, suddenly or otherwise to the realization that all was a lie.
of course, when we were jws, we had a purpose in life, and that purpose, along with life itself was a forever kind of thing.
we were to live forever, and our existance was well-defined for us.

I know how you're feeling, and it's a painful place to be. It does get better though. You will go thru the stages of grief because you have lost someone.....your former self. Every answer you thought you had to every question no longer fits. Eternal life is no longer guaranteed. Nothing is the same.
It's wonderful that you're going back to school. That takes determination and courage. Try to fill your summer with the things you always wanted to do, but couldn't. You will survive this, and best of luck to you.

P.S. Love your name, it describes what I've been doing lately!
