we had a guy who used to bang on about natural remedies.. at the doors and meetings he would tell everyone what was wrong with them and what to take to remedy it he even told the brothers of for sell coke at the assemblies.. however there was know remedy for his mental health apart from that he was a fat little porker who looked like you could grow spuds on his teeth and washing wasnt big on his agenda last i heard he joined scientology.. we had 4 sisters in the congro pregnant one nut case confessed to the elders he was father to all of them.. one sister used to attack the po's wife in the kh then stand up through the meeting and abuse at the speaker after that they would call the sike team it wasnt uncommon for her to go door to door at midnight.. last i heard she became a counsellor..
- crazy sister who yells at you loudly on a great distance with "helloooooo brother/sister xy" on a public place or subway. Sometimes she freaks out and runs NAKED through her neighborhood too. no joke.
- drinking pioneer sister who gives 5min answer on the wt study and sometimes tells crazy things while answering
it seems that many jehovah's witnesses are not so sure about "the truth".
from this and other website/discussion groups and from my own experience a lot of witnesses are having major doubts, but seem to be hanging in the organization, probably because of the disfellowshipping thing.
i hope the bethelite that came up with that got a big bonus.. .
this much info has a downside. jws (and i was) are trained that much critics and "lies" about the society is proof that it is the truth. lol. its the a fulfillment of 1st century prophecy, ya know?
i remember being disgusted from apostate sites at first (and some of them are really crazy...) and saw the anger some ppl have as a proof that im right and i dont need to look further into such stupid stuff.
for me it took the time until i developed my own doubts AND found the courage to really search whether im alone with this doubts. forums were my idea and i was right.
ever want to speak to them , i was only a study but i thought it very odd and judgemental to not even look at them and i used to think what are they so scared of if they have the truth , i did not buy the satan stuff about them at all , cult , was what sprung to mind and started my doubts
i remember some assemblies where "apostates" handed out small sheets of paper to the home going witnesses. i was a teenager and i remember my mom telling me "dont take one, these are apostates!". on the same assembly was a (small inserted) talk about the danger of those apostates outside and that we shouldnt even look at them. i remember viewing them as vicious enemies and i got incredible angry about them inside for no real reason - i didnt know anything about them. i just couldnt help myself that some ppl are so evil, that they directly attack jehovah. my only relief was that this probably is a sin against the holy ghost so they wont get a resurrection.
i feel ashame.

the society does not claim infallibility or inspiration.
the article basically says "were all wrong on everything but were the only ones preaching it everywhere and everyone who has other ideas does not create a society more successful as we. so we have the truth! ah, and we always change our doctrine when someone tells us that something is wrong with it."
thats the main critic you hear when you say the WTS is not from god today: "you say the WTS is wrong, so wheres your society with millions of ppl preaching your ideas? oh, you dont have one? too bad!" i wonder whether thats why russel started it?!

so, first he calls me at work, we've been getting along fine, and asks me the % of how much i want to be in the truth.
i told him 50/50.
i like the spiritual aspect of it, the people, etc.
i just can tell you my perspective: ive been confronted with the same wish from my wife. and i cant. i want kids too, but not under this circumstances. i know the problems that caused this religion in my life - i cant do this to innocent lifes. im still in and go "along", but its getting more and more difficult for me to stand it :-/

it's been a crazy ride for over 25 years, pretty much raised as a witness (ever since i could remember), rebelled against my parents, came back, straighten out for a little while, married within "the truth", but the last 5 to 7 years, i've been seriously questioning the changes and doctrines established by the wts.
never thought i would be looking from this side of the fence.
i was raised in the truth too and my wife is a nearly inactive believer :/

i started the journey a lot of months ago and still be here ;) im sure im doing the right though. its not easy to break the barricades in your own brain first. you see evidence you feel whats right but theres the guilt what is there for no reason what makes you think "and what if its the truth despite all this stuff"... remember what you would tell a catholic in fieldservice when he would wonder this about his religion...
but only if a judicial committee tells him to.. if they say i'm inactive and let me be, he can still talk to me.. it's meaningless, because i would never meet with a jc, but he let me know where he stands.. he's dead to me.. i'm not hurting.. lost tons of respect for the man.. i told him he was brainwashed and left him without saying goodbye.. to no longer live for his approval was liberating, but this is even better.. i told him that i couldn't do that to my son.. his response?.
unconditional love is a lie.. you only get unconditional love from a dog.. sick, brainwashed, emotionally bankrupt man.. p.s.- not looking for cyber hugs.

I understand the gravity of all this stuff but the idea about when someone is older and needing after dinner care as a way of revenge goes over my head!
If love hurts then wants revenge it was never love in the first place - but maybe some of us go the whole life journey with a massively different take on love! In fact I truly believe that after all the variety of feeling and reaction I come across!
Some personality types do love revenge! Personally its legalised crime in my eyes!
could be my post. im not the typical family man (like having a family cometogether once a week yay... no not my way), but i do love my family much. even though they would drop me because of my believes i think the best way is to love them further on. unconditionally. the act of shunning tries to provoke a harsh response because its cruel. a harsh response will strengthen someone IN the org in his believe that everything outside the org is evil (EVEN my brother/son/husband turned EVIL - thanks god im still in!). if you really love your family or friends you wont like that. so show them your love and respect even though they dont. nv's dad may be touched to tears when his son he shunned for so many years still loves him and cares for him when he needs it. by a good chance his fellow jws doesnt care much about him.

i guess that is a sign that i have deprogrammed from my 40 years in the org and loving life like never before.. anyway, i get a call from an active jw family member today who tells me there is new light in the feb 15 wt on the generaton teaching.
