i met a childhood friend recently and he told me with nostalgia that he recalled the childhood days as being very pleasant.
i told him they would be since we were living under the protection of our parents who took care of all our needs and we had no worries about anything.
it would be like paradise.
I miss my mom dearly. She was very sick in her last year. We had a major arguement the very last time I spoke with her. A week later I fould her deceased in her bed. No chance to make amends.
When I see posts here about never being able to talk with your family , I am reminded about my mom and how I wished I had just one instant in time to say I loved her. She taught me a lot about life without actually ever trying. It's been 5 years.
if a faithful devout jw saw her husband on a board like this or reading "apostate" literature, if she was so disturbed by her husband's actions and the husband justified himself, would you think that if she told the elders because she was truly concerned that her mate was going to leave "the truth" and ultimately not make it into the "new system", --------that this was simply a marital issue-----not a religious one?.

One more point. It doesn't seem like much of a marriage if a spouse picks a bunch of lying perverts over a sacred marraige. Why is that so hard to understand?

i asked my jw friend3 weeks ago this--- if all people came from adam and eve, and there is no such thing as evolution, then where did african ppl come form (or the chinese or whatever).
he never could answer.. the other question is : if no one has met jehovah, how do we know his name-don't give me it's in the book answer, because god didn't write the scriptures, right?

I think you are hitting the nail on the head. I have often looked at a globe and noticed that all the continents seem to fit together like a jig saw puzzle. But with no water, and some terrifying earthquakes, the likes we have never seen, it's hard to imagine anything that could live during that time. If you believe in creation, the world just showed up and all was as it is now. An unlikely story, unless you are an uneducated JW-hmmm.

Thanks for the interesting responses. I wasn't wondering how Africans lived in Africa based on their skin, etc. I was actually wondering how these people were able to migrate thousands of miles,thousands of years before they invented plane travel, cars, etc. Seems hard to travel thousands of miles so long ago. I think there is much more to the story, that we can only speculate. Sort of like how people could build pyramids with absolutely no technology and be able to aim the stairs parallel to the equinox shadow. Aliens, maybe? So The Creator is not male. Someone added the name Jehovah. It's odd to me that ppl refer to someone that isn't human and has not identified itself with a male label. I think I will call electricity-James.Also an invisible power. Makes about as much sense (maybe more as James last name was Watt.) My JW friend says all species just simply appeared . Then just as quickly vanished. Time for a trip to the past with my way back machine.

i want to make a tract that informs people that if they do not want to be bothered on a saturday morning, all they need to do is ask to be put on the do-not-call list.
As I learn some of the key buzzwords, and some of the lies and corruption,(never was a jw) I have some ammo now to return to the people coming to our door. But alas, I have yet to encounter one at home.
However, my JW friend called me today. We had a small business meeting. I told him that after our last encounter, that I had forgiven him for what he referred to me as. (The worldly person phrase). He seemed somewhat confused, but relieved. He did not realize that I was researching everything he told me. I said that continued discussion of his faith would require him to justify the way the elders swept the pedophile issues under the rug, and all the other scandals I uncovered. So it seems he is prepared for more of my "truth".
I think it's a lost cause. He is too busy trying to save himself, and forgets just what he is supporting financially.
He told me that he got really angry on our last discussion. I didn't think that was allowed. I also believe that if it is the gospel, then why be so defensive?
Maybe some of it will sink in one day. He does have a good heart. Just too damn gullible.
being that i like the looks of the christmas lights and that i have had 20 years of not being able to set them up, i have already taken the step of setting up the christmas tree.
on it are huge amounts of lights--12 sets of c6 led bulbs (they come 60 to a set) plus a set of 70 miniature leds for the top region.
i ran out of c6 bulbs about halfway up the tree (not to worry, i have the other 6 sets on order and they should be arriving today).. there are some things to think about when setting up a holiday tree out of "season".
That picture is so beautiful, I might (with permission) print it off and make a card with it , then give it to my witness friend. (I remember people wishing a merry Christmas to him. His reply- thank you. Emberrasing to see the response from the individual offering the wish).

My wife told me recently that if i ever joined this cult that a divorce would follow. Oddly enough it's the opposite I read in these postings. (For those that were following, my JW friend called me today and asked if I was available next week. My lecture on the evils of his cult did not stop him from calling. I believe money changes everything).
the co's visit is coming up soon and i'm wondering what i should expect.. what i'm asking is in relation to my burden responsibility as a ministerial servant.
i managed to get deleted as a regular pioneer and now i'm wondering if i should expect a second meeting, and perhap one with the co.. i most certainly don't want to have to endure another meeting!
