At the risk of sounding pompous, we were supposedly living in a civil nation where compassion is the norm. Our cops are supposed to represent that. The stuff going on here is supposed to happen in 3rd world countries and others not so 3rd world as well. I have been told tonight that Poland is considering pulling their athletes for the 2010 olympics. Our province is heavily relying on tourism which is suffering, and stories like this does not help.
Shame on Harper and Day if they try to sweep this under the rug.

Fear of athiests
by changeling ini seemed to have missed some of the excitement from last night.
but i wanted to post my observations.. it seems to me that some have an irrational fear of athiests.
it's as if they fear we are evil people that are out to destroy their faith.

Isn't it interesting.....
by lavendar in.....that when a worldly person wants to join the wts, but is living a sinful life.....the witnesses go out of their way to lovingly help him out of his life of sin.
but, when a jw (one of their own) commits a sin against jehovah...that person is disfellowshipped.
case closed.....no love, no care,....just cast out.

As a resident living near to this airport I have expressed outrage and shock that our "protect and serve" RCMP have acted like mafia hit men.
Please believe that ALL Canadians are upset that cops, and now politicians behave like school bullies. We are supposed to be compassionate people-I am ashamed to be a Canadian. I cannot ask forgiveness for this horrendous deed ( that is up to those involved) but I am truly sorry to the man and especially the surviving family.
To those promoting these devices. After being hit a few times with voltages of that magnitude (work related) I believe the voltage is about double needed to get someones attention. An arc of that magnitude can actually cook you (at least my finger took over a month to heal). 25 kv is I believe much safer, although I am not an expert.

You did not say why you are getting this visit. My JW witness friend as I know now, just visited me to fill in his time card. I never even once tried to explain my concern with false worship. I recently explained however that our discussions had to come to an end because of what I discovered here and elsewhere. BUT not once did I ever go to his home to badger him about the evil society. That is the difference between him and myself. I am free-he is a drone, so why behave the way they do, unless your family member expresses self doubt. As I mentioned recently, you never see athiests, or agnostics, or even disgruntled religious people buzzing around other peoples doors. If they ask for spiritual help, do your best, but why stoop to their tactics?

Childhood fears
by beksbks ini'm sure this has been asked, but is there anything that you were horribly afraid of as a child, that you most likely have gotten over since?.
i was just watching x-files, and there was a spontaneous human combustion scene.
that was one of my big fears as a kid once i heard of it.

I just can't understand why parents would put a cult ahead of their own children. My parents put alcohol ahead of us. 2 out of 3 of us kids survived. Sadly one did not. I had to move on for the sake of my wife and kids. You should too (I think you have already).
