I voted in an election for the first time in my life!

anyway, for the first time in over 20 years of eligibility, i voted in today's primary.

Accepting my own mortality
by tooktheredpill ini dont know about you, but this is one of the most difficult issues of being a jw (at least for me).
as we were living on a spiritual paradise (totally unreal), we used to believe everything the gb said without questions.
i was not going to get old, or go to high school, or go to college or get married and the "big a" was going to finish the "wicked system" ... and them we were going to have a paradise earth forever.... .

We've created this myth of something better after death to soothe our fear of the unknown.
While that for the most part is true, the reality is about controlling the masses. It's about power.
Living in fear makes one more prone to accepting all sorts of beliefs. Like the Witnesses. Give them this story about eternal life and voila! Instant followers. Problem is that the GB knows no more than anyone else about what happens after one perishes. It's all about money. Seems to be that way in most faiths doesn't it? In reality though, there is always doubt-even in Witnesses.
I had this very discussion with my JW associate in Dec. I told him I have accepted my mortality.He said he found it hard to accept that I was comfortable in my existence. I said that may be due to the need to keep everyone (including him) in the "fear" zone.The end is inevidable in all of us. So why waste your entire life dwelling on what you can do nothing about?
Living in fear is a complete waste of your life. It is counter productive. Accept it and move on. The alternative is your demise.

Not interested in the Hill/Bill show. It's a repeat. As for Condi, she blew it (pardon the pun) when she had dreams of intimacy with W a few years ago. Remember her saying My Husband inadvertently. Ya that prez. material.
If I could vote- Obama or Ron Paul. John McCain may not survive 8 years.

About that time the cop looks down and sees the man's weiner hanging out of his fly for all the world to see. He asks the man "Sir are you aware that you are exposing yourself? " Momentarily confused, the drunk looks down at his crotch and without missing a beat, blurts out.......... "Holy crap! My girlfriend's gone too!

Elder's Wife Apologizes In Tears for Shunning Me Yesterday

my jw ex-wife and i still own a house together, (she lives in it and a non-jw adult son is living there with her temporarily), not to mention the three kids and seven grandkids we share, so we interact quite a bit, e-mailing, calling or seeing each other a few times a week or so.
i'm still doing some remodeling to our house.

Local customs
by Samuel Thorsen inhere in norway dubs are dancing while having a wedding or some other party, but in sweden dancing in a big no no.. i know one congragation in southern norway where the sisters are alowed to wear pants during fs, while pants in fs just don't happend ever in the congos around in the same area.. any local differences in your area?.

It's bad enough to see white people trying to dance-wxcept for JT. He's good on the superbowl. But try to imagine a bunch of white Jw's trying to do some sort of dancing to a rap song. Someone PLEASE poke my eyes out.
