It seems that abusing 1 child is much better than abusing 100. Strange.

I am Frustrated beyond belief~/Please read!
by restrangled injust had a conversation with my mom about 13 million spent on defending and losing court cases by the society.. i argued that they can't argue against the catholics when they themselves are guilty of the same.. she replied she didn't care.
(after sending them $100,000.00 dollars) she stated that the catholic church had spent billions defending them selves and if the jw's had only spent millions .
that the society had spent billions sending a message, and if i didn't like their message then leave her alone and the rest of the group.. i am burning with rage......i was accused of trying to destroy her beliefs, and if i was not in agreement to reject the entire religion........which of course i have already done many moons ago.. r..

Visit from my mom, oh the joy.
by RollerDave ini realize it's been a while since i spun a good yarn, but the past few days i have had my mom staying with us, and that is enough to fuel a yarn if anything ever was.. it starts last week when my sister, mrs po was over at mom's trying to discover why mom's pc seems to randomly shut itself off for no apparent reason.
i imagine she scoured the house for garage sale items with attached legions of demons or mischievous smurf dolls before noticing a correlation between the ancient prehistoric freezer mom has switching on or off, and the lights dimming and the pc simply going poof.. but it couldn't be this pleistocene menace freezer that is the problems, it has to be the top-end pc i built mom.. please excuse me while i roll my eyes and peer at the back of my skull for a moment or two..... there.. anyhoo, it gets decided that i'll come out and pick mom up along with her pc and bring the both of them back to my house for a few days.. not decided by me mind you, but decided nonetheless.. i mean, i've got a giant truck that chugs gas as if from a fire hose and an electric scooter to ride up to mom's door, why shouldn't i go collect her, haul all her stuff to the truck, load it, help her climb up into the truck and then load my scooter?.
all from the back of my scooter, mind you.

Holding on forever and ever
by free2beme ini went to a old train station museum today and looked around at the antiques and old tools of days gone by.
as i walked around to the platform that once held passengers departing to several cities down the track, i came upon a old woman who was just sitting there looking sad and knitting to pass the time.
i set down and spoke to her to see if everything was okay.. "are you okay mam, you seem like something is wrong?

OK, now you're driving me crazy. I've always enjoyed the melody, but as usual, never understood the meaning. Someone please explain-unless it's about the above story. I got that. One toke over the line sweet Jesus. I thought it was a song to smoke a doobie.

'Apostate'
by lfcviking indefinition from the american heritage dictionary:.
'one who has abandoned ones religious faith, a political party, ones principles or a cause'.
thousands of people leave the watchtower org every year, some become atheist, some agnostic, some choose to follow another religion and some develop their own beliefs, yet according to this dictionary definition all are apostate.

Can someone who was never a Witness be considered an apostate? Never baptized either.

Do you expect the man in the marriage to be strong.
by free2beme inmy mother-in-law had surgery recently and when ever she does go through medical issues, it brings up something i wonder about.
you see, i think the man or husband, in the relationship needs to be strong at those moments.
to be the person who people can look to for updated information, perhaps to be the pillar of strength to keep everyone calm in a rough situation and so on.

In 1995 my younger brother ended his life with a gunshot to his head(35). I was supposed to be a pillar of strength. I tried to remain composed at work, but it was impossible. He was a bad boy-drugs, theft, violence. In the early 90's I told him to clean up his act. I was a proud father of a new daughter then. I said this type of activity was not allowed anywhere near my family, and come see me when it ends.
On my daughters 5th birthday, his troubles ended. I wanted so bad to smile at her birthday, but sadly I could not. My wife, however did smile. She is a pillar of strength when it comes to the death of a family member. I am the sensitive one in the family.
For many nights, I wanted to tell him I was so sorry for not helping out. My request went unanswered. It was then time to move on.
My spiritual journey began sometime thereafter. I became less bitter in life, and actually found happiness in my small family. I gained new found respect for everyone around me. Even my nutty mother-in-law.
I still cry at the odd movie. Forest Gump when Jenny died. Farenheit 9-11 when the towers collapsed.
The wife and I are opposites when it comes to many things, but we are complete together after 25 years.
Just thought you would like to hear that.

Wondering why Witnesses don't ask if meat is bled anymore!!!!
by Witness 007 inyears ago we were encouraged to ask your butcher if meat was bled....today no one cares!
if it's such a serious sin {like fornication} why doesn't anyone ask has this duck been properly bled?
only, one anionted sister i know washes mince under the tap to get the blood out!

That has been my point to my JW friend all along. How could you possible avoid blood from meat. Drain the blood as much as you can, then fry a burger-watch what happens on the grille!
The Muslim community have butcher shops that sell Halal meat. It's supposed to be drained thoroughly.
Just one question---how is the body able to produce muscle tissue? I think from the nutrition from the blood. Or at least to some extent. So eat meat, eat blood. Just a theory.

Do you really want to save us?
by nvrgnbk inthis is for the christians.. let's put our swords away.. try to convince those of us that have lost our faith to accept jesus christ and all that that acceptance entails.. pretend that our lives( eternal) depend on it.. that's what you believe isn't it?.
this is an opportunity to win souls for christ.. yes.
things may get heated.

That's sad, emo. I don't believe one has to prove anything to have faith. I also don't believe that anyone here or anywhere else has even the slightest clue just what God is. I don't either, but I do have faith, no matter what you or my JW firend says to me.
It's also a clear fact that people with faith have a longer and healthier life. Sounds like free health care to me. But I do understand about evidence of evolution. I cannot argue that point at all. Physical and dna evidence is undeniable.

My wife told me thatif I ever shaved off the beard (very short), she would leave me. Well I shaved it once many years ago and she phoned her mother and cried on the phone for 15 minutes. (she never saw me without it). So I guess I can never be a Witness. I suppose Jesus could not be one either. Is that a contradiction, and who cares. Sort of like the arguement that Jesus was tied to a pole instead of a cross.
So why is how Jesus was killed more important than why?

I don't get it. Why can you believe in evolution, and not believe in God, or at least have faith. Even the Pope is reconsidering this issue. Am I alone on this?

Dearest OBVES...
by AGuest inmay you have peace!.
i have started a new thread on the subject you raised, blood, because the other is so long i didn't want the information i am privileged to share with you to be lost.
i wish to tell you that you have been misled and, like those you follow, risk misleading others, to your own detriment and theirs.

All I can say is.....a post well done. When I donate blood Oct.13, I will remember this post. To the point and not at all preachy. Thanks.
