  OK, here's my dilema. I am ocasionally contracted out to do work with a Witness. He is constantly behind in paying out what he owes. Corrently he owes me about $700 bucks, and recently he asked me to work on a few projects. I politely requested that he gets caught up first.

  So let's put this and the fact that Witnesses believe that the end is sooooo close, so why bother paying his "worldly" debt.

  Now I understand that they are forced to do the right thing, but as I read here and in so many other cases, honesty is not always paramount with them. So now I have to stop working with him 'till he gets caught up.

  His theory is why bother, but the reality is that life on this planet will continue unabated for quite some time.

  I honestly believed and trusted him "till that "worldly people" phrase caught my eyes. Imagine working and standing next to someone who wishes you a crushing end to your exsistence? Makes me very ill thinking about it

  Regarding People Who Complain About Everything....

  i'm sick of them!

  my mom was telling me of how her friend is upset again with the elders (and nearly everyone else) because they don't talk to her.

  she waits in the back of the hall and watches everyone go by her to see if they'll approach her to see how she's faring.. i know of a certain woman who regularly comments on how certain persons are "giving her a look".

  interesting question i think.. the society says we "search out deserving ones" and "those rightly disposed", those who have "the right heart condition" - did you ever feel this was you when you accepted the truth?

  did you feel that jehovah thought you as a deserving one?.

  That thing on the roof looks more like a chimney. So what is the reason Witnesses believe Jesus was duct taped onto a post instead of crucified? Why is" how" more important than "why"? Someone please explain. Thanks.

  What Are Your All Time Favorite TV Shows?

  all in the family is one of the very best series, in my opinion.. when i see re-runs of the andy griffith show, i smile.

  when i was a kid, i never really appreciated don knotts and the gang as much as i do now.. taxi was another favorite.

  hill street blues was great.

  i've been having a debate with some guys, non jw's, on a different forum.

  how would you reply to this?.

  most of the things mentioned in revelation are perfectly believable and likely to happen, like asteroid/meteor impacts, wars, famine (food insecurity is going to be a major problem as the world's population increases).

  there were some postings in the jwd recent past that asked if while an active witling was thanksgiving dinner served on or around the worldly holiday.

  i have been thinking about the subject off and on as the pavo day draws near, now i know why.

  my cell phone rang while i was doing laundry and checking for random kleenex in the pockets (thanks bem and misanthropic).

  Are We Kind Because It's the Right thing to Do/Or Because "God"Tells Us To?

  in seeing the " debates " the last couple days of religionists debating with atheists i couldn't help but start a thread on what i have noticed since leaving the jehovah's witnesses religion.

  personally just to set the record straight on my views personally i consider myself a strong agnostic, perhaps a weak and learning atheist, if that makes any sense .

  while in the witnesses, i was always annoyed ( for 44 years i might add) by some who considered themselves very " spiritual " being kind to others in a facade kind of manner.

  So you need to look up scripture to figure out good from evil? And if you become a JW, you automatically want all non witnesses to be destroyed. I defy anyone anywhere to tell me just what is good about that?
