Here's to hoping for a full recovery. Hope your pet feels better soon. Any idea what could have caused this much trauma? A bear? Cougar? Pondscum neighbour? Might be an idea to keep your dog secured at night 'till you get some answers. Well done! Bill.

To Bluecanary. I believe the letter was intended mostly for "worldly" people. Witnesses won't read this anyway unless they are "on the fence". Who gives a s$#t what these brainwashed "slaves" believes. Once I found out just how evil this (B)org turned out, I stopped the studies immediately.
As a matter of fact I have taken a witness to a collection agency because I can only assume that these lunatics believe that because the world is coming to an end soon, that there is no reason to pay their debt.
As far as the age of this planet is concerned, not one person has or will be able to predict just how old this planet is. Anyone who thinks they do must have a "way back machine" or is a complete idiot. If I have time I will visit his office and mention that the article was well written. I cannot mention that the article was published here because no one got permission.
Take care. Bill.

To the few that question his comment about the age of the planet. I believe you have dwelled on something that people on the outside couldn't have cared less. The point of the article was not about disputing the facts. It's about exposing the religion based on the lies and hypocracy it is based on. Who cares how old the planet is. It's about destroyed lives either by molestation, shunning, or whatever else. One could examine every story ever told and found enough evidence to debunk it.
The writer here has a legitimate argument. How accurate the facts are is minor compared to the damage the society has done.

I have to ask Shamus if you live in Edmonton or Whitehorse? (guessing) Here on the coast it's non stop sun, without the humidity.
Hope Canadians all across our country feel good about the freedom we cherish. Only 6 months to New Years Day.

What would it take for you to conclude that the WBTS is not God's channel?
by Mickey mouse ini wondered if you could answer this question for me?
you seem to be fine with the fact that they are false prophets, that they have changed the bible and that they have entered into an agreement to "uphold the aims of the un".. what is the deal breaker for you?.
i suspect that there isn't one, and that is not a reasonable position.. please tell me there is something they could do that would make you question their legitamacy?.

I always thought (assuming the whole Bible thing is real), that Jesus was the deal, not the deal breaker. The bible deals in the book of John about just who or whom to worship. Nowhere there or anyplace else does it state something or someone else. No WTS, no Scientology, not even the Catholics. It does however tell readers to be Christ-like. I don't think Jesus was a cultist, a socialist maybe. But NEVER a shunner.

There was also Spike and Chester from Warner brothers. Spike was the bulldog, and Chester was the Chihuahua I believe. Spike chased Sylvester the cat, and the cat became a Kangaroo. I remember that as a kid a long time ago.

My JW Daughter sends a Letter to us Explaining her Shunning of Me
by flipper inmy wife and i sent my 22 yr.old pioneer witness daughter and her husband a anniversary card and $ 40.00 and flowers the end of april.
my daughter wrote mrs. flipper and me each our own individual letters thanking us initially for the gifts - and then went into detail as to why she has not spoken to me for over a year and shunned me.. keep in mind as i paraphrase some of the highlights to these letters that the only negative thing i have said about the organization to my daughter in 3 years was to show her the ap news release about the child abuse settlements by the wt society .
i'll quote parts of the letter to mrs. flipper first :.

Leave Jehovah? You actually left The Watchtower Society. If one believes the story of Jesus, you will be forgiven. No matter what you do. It's not up to a human being to make the choice. But I forget that The WTS takes away that choice.
Too bad they keep forgetting the book of John. How convenient.
I actually was going to suggest that you pretend that you are interested, but I really object to fabricating stories even if it gets results. 2 wrongs seldom make a right I guess.
The fact that she wrote back in the first place is a good start. Never forget that guilt is a powerful weapon even for the most brainwashed individuals. That might be a tool that you can use. Just be stealth about it.
Good luck to you. Bill.

I once confided in an individual who started to "coach" me in his beliefs. After a few years, I started to work with this individual for about 2 years. I began to find flaws is his logic by doing simple research. I questioned him on what I found and suddenly the calls diminished to zero and he is in debt to me for almost 500 bucks. No more calls to me with a debt owing, and now I will be going to a debt collector. They are a waste of a so called "friendship" . Do yourself a favour and move on right away. They are not their friend, they are your controller and mind manipulator.

Teenagers taking vows of celibacy
by I quit! ini heard of an interesting study on kcrw (public radio la) today about teenagers that take a vow to abstain from sex before marriage.
in this survey they found that the pregnancy rate was the same with teens that had made some kind of a vow to abstain from sex before marriage as those that did not make any vow.
the difference was those that had made some kind of commitment to abstain from sex were less likely to have taken any steps to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.

Education, not celibacy is the real key. Ask Ms. Palin.
