Eckhart is great so is Adyashanti and Gangaji . Papaji , Maharshi lots and lots of people who don't have the "truth" that really have the gift to point you at it.

"A New Earth"....Eckhart Tolle
by new boy inthe most powerful book i have ever read.. many have read "the power of now"....his new book blows it away.... the beautiful thing about eckhart is he doesn't claim to have "the truth"...he isn't trying to start a new religion.... he will bring you to tears when he tells you how you have created your own ego driven personal hell.. how we have all "fallen in love" with our own personal stories...the illusion is thinking they are real.... this book will change your world....which we all know is the scariest thing anyone can ever do.. nb .

You all are shamlessly beating an unarmed man ! Villifying a scoundral like russel doesn't take much, and beating up the Wretchtower ,lordy, lordy ,it's all cheap shots all the time,
They can't help but do the things they do, after all ,the faithless and decrepit servant only does his masters bidding , posssibly ,,,,satan made them do it ?

Why all the animosity?
by blueviceroy ini have seen several really angry people posting lately and i'm wondrering if maybe i missed something.
i don't read the newspaper , i don't watch the news on tv , and i don't gossip about world events with anyone , so maybe i'm out of touch and missed something.. i spend all my interactions with people in real life doing my very best to improve there experience in this life , i see a need i do my best to meet it, i'm not a bleeding heart or even a communist or a socialist , .
but i see so much negativity brought about by peoples own views , they could be happy if they just would shut up and look at the world and what a gift this life is instead of bitching endlessly about how f**cked up everyone else is.. spreading ill will like it has no effect , it's pollution , it adds to the very thing they bitch about, (sigh) ,,,, i just wish more people would grow up.

Four guys go to work yesterday...
by frozen one ini'm a construction foreman.
occasionally the work i have my crew perform involves entering what is called a "confined space" or a space that doesn't have ventilation such as a sewer manhole or other type of vault.
the lack of ventilation may cause explosive or poisonous gases to accumulate or deplete the oxygen level.

Work place deaths really hit home when it's your field , you just say ,"Man that could have been me !"
We had a guy die downstairs while we were setting trusses on a building , we couldn't hear him because the crane was so loud , we just found him in the basement after he had been dead for about an hour. He was 23 .

Do we have trust issues?
by KW13 insince the 'incident' with trevor and company, do you feel you cannot trust people here anymore?
i don't mean online in general, i don't mean in your day to day life i mean on this site.. i think some of us have taken a direct hit right where trust was and the issues are starting to become apparent on this site.
i'm not referring to individuals but rather the general feel of the site - it feels like the site has developed a limp.

587/607 Question...
by deaconbluez inif the exile wasn't to be 70 years, how is jeremiah 29:10 explained by pro-587 folks?.
10 "for this is what jehovah has said, in accord with the fulfilling of seventy years at babylon i shall turn my attention to you people, and i will establish toward you my good word in bringing you back to this place.. .
also, if it truly was a 70-year period of servitude, and not exile, when was this 70 years served by other nations?.
-

Lets take this into some new light LOL
What if he means after you toil on earth (babylon) for 70 years , then when you die he keeps his word and takes your soul back to the source.
Maybe it's not such a narrow meaning as it is portrayed as , perhaps it alludes to a more broad meaning with a little scope than the literal would appear after a translation and much copying.

The Bibles source, have you bothered to look for yourself?
by blueviceroy inthe bible came to be as the result of scholars desire to compile a complete understanding of humankind at the time ( or so i have gathered in my search ).
it's foundations lie in judaism , has anyone bothered looking at the actuall root documents and attempted to gain some insite there?.
i have been searching for the roots of modern religion , it's always been a hobby but i'm begining to get a little more serious as i uncover more and more.. we have a rich and varied pool of documents that are left out of the bible and should be perused with the same intent as the bible is studied , finding some truth .. accepting what our culture has assimilated for us as is , well , thats not in anyones best interests , not if you value truth and genuine understanding.

Ok maybe all is too much , but I would think one from each culture of ,,oh,,, maybe , ,, the top 10 or so would probably give a fairly good cross section
, I've gone through Christianity and Buhddism a little Shinto and Tso and currently I'm looking into some ancient Jewish Kabbalah which was the precursor to most orthodox and some wierder occult stuff in the U.S.
The message is pretty much muddied in most with a lot of subjective experiences and mystisism , although the message of seeking the truth within and being a doer of kindness instead of harm is the same in each , the methodologies differ a great deal .
But it's nice to learn that some people in the world actually loved each other .
