two years ago (june 21) i lost my older brother after a long struggle with alcohol/depression.. i've put off making an 'announcement' about his passing for a long time now, as i don't really like.
posting personal information on this board.
but, i continue to hear from people just finding out .

hello to everyone here at jwd.
i've been lurking about and tossing out a few .
comments since i joined up a few weeks ago.
hi everyone, i'm new here, been viewing the board for a while, decided to join yesterday.. so i'm about 95% convinced now the wts is bogus, but i'm still in coz as yall know leaving is the hardest part.
i plan on doing a fade to avoid the complete disconnection, but first want to gradually help my gf to see things too.
in the meantime, i'm just wondering how many of you are still "active" jdubs?
Hi Agent zero and welcome to jwd.
There are few here that still go and they may identify themselves. I planned a slow fade, and was ok as my boe are poor at sheperding.
My advice to you is enjoy youreslf and then get out asap live and enjoy your life free fron the high mind control wts

my son called me yesterday, first time in probably 6 weeks, because he lost his car keys, the car is in my name, so i had to get another set from the dealership.
anyways, it doesn't really matter what he called about, it was just in 6 weeks he only calls because he needs something, not a peep before that (very hurtful).
a brother drove him to my office and it was quittin time so i went outside with him and gave him the keys, i was hurt and didn't say much to him.
I understand where you are coming from, i might be put in the same position with my 15 jw daughter should i be df. She has already said that she will do gods will, nice eh?.
Anyhow like Jgnat and the rest have said you are enabling bad behaviour. Tell your son how you feel then see if any changes occur , if not move on and cancel the insurance

you may recall the thread i started on monday about wanting a change or an adventure... .
well how's this for the laws of attraction.... my husband has just been told that his company is laying off 600 of it's 3000 employees in a massive restructure.. they are offering voluntary separation packages, early retirements, and then of course there will be forced retrenchments.
we are thinking and hoping that he is safe for now, he is in middle management and well respected and liked.
Hi Princess
If you need help with the Uk let me know i will help you in whatever way i can

I found the book hard going initially but when i got into it i really enjoyed it. The interplay between the characters and thier backrounds fascinating.
One thing that ws interesting was that one act of dishonesty, the inadmission to killing the forst killing led to a train of events into a downnward spiral.
I was always told by a friend of mine, who has a degree in Behavioural Pschcology to be honest even if it hurts. If that had happened here how things would have been diffrerent
Regards David
I love the book in the end and finished it late one night

Hi Jackie i am here dont forget i am a Brit i was in bed !!
As you know i really enjoyed this book, and am enjoying rereading it.
One theme that i think might be that sometimes in life we an opportunity to change our life dramatically yet step back. This can be fear for a number of reasons, then we look back woth longing. This comes through in a number of places here.
I also found that a number of times i found myself crying yet in the end i found the book edifying and upbeat,
When i went to see Khalid Hosseini one of the things he said if that Afghanistan is very compex nation. Yet one thing that does come across here and in other books is that we humans have similar desires and wants, and that one of the greatest gifts that the west could make is to understand those desires and engender a society that liberates us to realise our desires.
I also found the treatment of the women gentle thoughtful, Hossieni plainly treats women as equals and id sensitive to them and thier cultural mores.

i was supposed to fly tommorrow but i put off booking the tickets....and now i've chickened out and will take an 11 hour train ride all night...compared to 1 hour flight.
i have butterflys in my stomach and i can't relax.
i don't trust airplanes or pilots!
I have to admit i love flying . On a recent trip to New York we flew down the Eastern US seaboard and saw the snowfields amd icebergs, that was stunning from 7 miles up.
I also went a small commuter plane in very heavy weather., i expressed my concrens to a couple of pilots who were stiing behind me . They said when we look worried you can be. The flight was bumpy and they were completely unpeturbed, so was i.
Having a pretty lady next to you that you know, or if you can or friend, these can ease things too.
If you do not have a friend speak to a fellow passenger i have met some really interesting people on planes.
I hope you get to enjoy flying

i see some posters still aren't 100% sure that the jehovah's witness religion might not be "the truth"....was there a moment when things became very clear for you regarding this religion?.
do you still think, maybe----jws aren't all that bad??
?.
About 12 years , initially it was a gradual process, then when i made my mind up i did a slow fade, to cause my still in JW famliy fewer problems. It worked, except the elders now seem to want to come after me, but i can deal with that.

i feel angry, bitter, resentful and stupid.
when i was in my 30's and young and strong, and had a long stretch of life ahead of me, i went along with the jw's and didn't get my education.
now that i am 50, divorced and barely making a living as a teacher aide, i am scrounging around trying to get the loans and grants to enable me to go to school to earn a b.a.
Thier atttude is myopic, nauseating and mind controlling
You will need to get an education to better yourself.
Wishing you well
David
