to me, the scene in saving private ryan - the two soldiers in the small upstairs room fighting hand to hand to the death (by stabbing).
i think that is the most disturbing thing i've seen on screen and there were plenty just in that film alone.
Wow, thanks. It was soooooooo weird. When someone was singing "Crying Over You" acapella in Spanish was so hauntingly beautiful.
So she killed her girlfriend for real? I kinda got some of it but it was ........I don't know.
I have really epic vivid dreams. But NOTHING like that movie. That being said, sometimes I wonder, "Did I do that or just dream I did it?' So far no hit men or murder.

Anything with a rape scene I cannot tolerate. "Mulholland Dr" kinked my brain up for days. Still don't know what that was about. Guess I am not sophisticated enough.

My mom has been tormenting me to go back to the meetings. for 17 yrs. I have two older brothers who have nothing to do with the truth, one in prison( for drugs and murder), one retired gun, racist antisocial weirdo. The sun rises and sets with them. I finally broke down one day and started crying and told my mom that I am sorry that I'm not what she wants me to be but I just can't and I leave my judgement to Jehovah and so should she. She has really backed away since then and we get along better.
i was wondering why da or df jw no longer believe in god when they make up their mind to no longer attend a meeting.
first off let's not say that all of us become athiest when leaving.
many on this board believe in god.

what would the world be like?.
for example, today orthodox jews and christians don't kill witches and homosexuals because they can't legally.. but if things were as their god decreed in the bible, they'd be dead.. islam, when it has enough power to enforce it's laws, summarily kills and dismembers those that offend allah.. so if you're unhappy with all the gays and druggies and atheists and witches and hippies, are you secretly longing for the day when your deity of choice exterminates them?.

just wanted to say to all you guys who were elders and everybody, at least for myself thanks for the help and assistance you have provided me since joining jwd !
i know when in the witnesses elders and all of us probably did not get the commendation we deserved for our efforts , and it was a thankless job for elders having to spew out cult influenced counsel from the governing body, especially if they disagreed with it.
i know i had bad dealings with elders when a witness because of unjust treatment not only of myself , but that of others , but want you guys here to know, i look at you as friends on a level basis now !
I was just wondering what you all think the average yearly income is for an elder. I was at my Safeway recently and a long time elders wife with 4 kids was using food stamps. She seemed embarassed.

ok, just foudn this forum, been left the jw's 11 years now and never looked back, i am a male 46 from the uk, while being a jw i was depressed and had no real goals in life, except what they wanted.. now i have been at college these last 3 years, got a teaching qualification and now doing a degree, oh and i also have my youngest son who is 10, enagaging in motorcycle racing, another no no for them jw's.. and hey he leaves two expensive motorcycle in the paddock most times unattended and dfoes anyone steal them, nope, hmm seems that jw's do not have the monoploy on hoesty, not that many of then are that anyways.. .
