I've never gotten into it. I will attend parties etc but I don't decorate etc. I give gifts when I can afford it (not this year). I live alone and no kids so I don't see a reason for it. I don't have any emotional ties to it because it was a non-event in my life. I enjoy all the lights, music and that people are merrier.

God's "official channel"
by Deputy Dog ini'm amazed at how many on this forum, believe the gb really believes their own lie, that they are god's "official channel".
are there many of you that believe as i do.
i believe somewhere deep down they know they are just fooling people.

My mother and I talked about this. She believed the GB was the FDS. I asked her if she would trust every decision in her life to be defined by some guy she had never knew. She said no, but I said you let 17 penises in NY do that to you. AND why do they exclude female remnants? Gotta have that little ol appendage to get God's direction first. Maybe like a lightening rod.

Oh man that reawakens my pissed -off -ness. In my case they told me I could not divorce. I did. Then if I had a sexual relationship or remarried then they would disfellowship ME (then my mom couldn't talk to me anymore). So unkind and bullies they are. They are never responsible for what they do to people. I wonder if they are all sociopaths without conscience.

Boring bookstudy book...which one was the worst?
by White Dove ini remember the old timers saying that the red babylon book was the hardest to understand.. in my memory, i'd have to say the isaiah books and daniel book were the most involved and boring.. the revelation book had gorgeous pictures in it (the writing was horribly boring), so i just looked at them, and i was 22 at the first study of it!.

I've bought the first
by John Doe intwo seasons of the x files, and i'm hooked.
i never watched it much when it was on tv because fox didn't come in very clear.
there seems to be about 3 different formulas that the show uses, and they're all based on those formulas while chaning up names and places.

I loved the X-Files. The weirdest one was I think called "The Family" Where it opens with a group of boys playing baseball and a buried baby is discovered that has just about every mutation a child could have. There starts the investagation. It has overthemes of "The Andy Griffith Show" since it takes place in a very peaceful small town which has an secluded and secretive family that has lived there since before the civil war that no one interracts with. Creepy, funny and bizarre ending.
I liked it until Duchovney left.
