  What are you doing tonight/weekend?

  tonight i am going to be driving down to st. helens (not far from liverpool) with an aunt to drop off her car at a friends garage and then coming back with her, fortunately her friend is lending her a car otherwise we'd be stuck there lol.. saturday i am going to a bon-fire with family minus mum and stepdad (don't get me wrong i wish they were there).. sunday - no idea.... .

  Friday, Had to get up 5AM to take my mom 4 a biopsy of her lung. Of course ran into a JW I used to know at the hospital and was asking about different people and was really struck by how many I used to know ...that it really had been my life. Kinda sad. Don't know the results of biopsy yet. Had a nice day with Mom. Cleaned roof and gutters b4 rain tomorrow. Laundry

  Sat. Friend coming over around noon. Lunch. May have to drain gas from lawnmower. Think it is bad fuel. Honda lawnmower not running evenly even tho changed plug, oil and filter. Bad gasoline for $3.20/gal. Just great. May not have time to do that as friend tends to hang around late. Gotta go to liquor store.

  Sun. Go see ex boyfriend who has MS. Luv him.

  Dullsville but it's life. Better than the alturnative.

  BTW what IS this PM talking about? Causing my brain to neuro misfire.

  Never Heard of this guy. How old is he? 25yrs ago I had heard of a group called "Jehovah's Christian Witnessess" Nothing new here just same ol same ol. Someone just tweaking somethings that have been tweaked to smithereens.

  No doubts, it is torture. Yes, Illegal under Geneva Convention but the majority of soldiers over there are mercenary (i.e. black water) and since they are not US soldiers but a private army for hire they are not under any laws. The whole Abugrabbass prison thing was run by mercenaries but it was the US privates that got hung out to dry.

  Aren't there any drugs you can safely give that will make you tell everything you know and then some?

  i've come to realize there are two kinds of witnesses: the idealists and the legalists.

  the idealists are the typical rank and file.

  they believe firmly in the ideal that the watchtower society is directed by god, and the motives of the jw clergy are nothing but spiritual.

  I think I was a little of both since we had to know about so many "facts" (like the translation of the word 'cross' vs 'stake'etc). I will say that the emotional, physical, spiritual dissillusion I experienced was enough to make me self eject into the atmosphere. I knew a CO who had a photographic memory and he was pretty amazing at how he could quote and WT give the year, page, location on the page. Sorry to generalize but I think men are more legalistic minded which really makes control easier for them to assume. Now, umteen yrs later I am researching the flaws. I was always uncomfortable with the Elder School, Pioneer School etc as it seemed they had some 'secret' materiel. When I visited Bethel and the WT farms (I was way more impressed with the farms) My then husband (at Bethel) exclaimed, "Couldn't you just move right in?!?!" I thought, No Way Jose. I loved my little house and pets and garden and job and no desire to be so "regulated" almost down to bowel movement exams. What a sweat shop! If these GB guys are so legalistic then why don't they see that there are huge errors...is it just their egos?

  i guess that i have went to a different kh, because i wasn't greeted with love, but only by 2 people.

  part of this may have been i decided to keep my full beard.

  Poor thing. Too bad you never experienced the old SEVEN DAY conventions (assemblies) 8 hrs/day. Exhausting. We drove down to Pasadena CA in my dad's '60 VW. My mom and I volunteered to sell snow cones. The bees were incredible. We were working so fast that my mom , in giving the "grape" snow cone ended up throwing it all over a brothers white startched shirt. I don't remember learning anything as the sound systems were echoing and it was so hot that at one point I fainted. Billy Graham was having one of his fests at the same time and the papers were running the daily attendance like a horse race :JWs 16000...Graham 16001.

  i know a lot of brits, aussies, canadians, etc, always marvel at the arrogance, haughtiness, and cockiness of us tourists visiting their countries.

  or how mainstream us citizens just fall in line with anything that comes out of the government's mouth, accept any policy as "good", believe all that stuff about how "america is the greatest nation on earth!"..

  how it gets ingrained into the being of most us citizens?.

  i spoke with an older sister who attended the annual meeting and has connections at bethel.. i asked her about what the "generation" change was and she was almost dismissive about it, as if it.

  feelings of guilt

  as some of you are aware i am in the early stages of doubting the wts as the only channel of truth.however i am assailed by feelings of guilt.am i being seduced by the words of disgruntled witnesses or ex-witnesses or am i truly doubting !

  !maybe some of you felt this way in the early stages of your "defection" from the wts.sometimes i feel as though i am rejecting god and his organization but other times i feel so strongly that the wts has misled me and is acting to control my "loyalty" by vieled threats of destruction at armageddon.you see prior to becoming a jw i had no religious affiliations.i knew nothing about the bible or god.so for 20 yrs i have only known watchtower teachings and un-learning 20yrs of this is making me so indesicive.am i doing the right thing or not ?

  my only solace is prayer.i have prayed to god to show me in some way what the truth really is.i must admit that these prayers have been the most heartfelt i have ever said.have others felt this way and if so how did they deal with it ?i would truly appreciate some feedback.

  Steve, Take things a little at a time. "guilt" is when you go against something you've been indoctrinated in. They say that when a relationship is broken it takes half the time you were together to really have it out of your system. I think that applies here as well. Roots run deep. Do your research. I went to different churches but I found they were all the same. Just different dressing. I think it is good to go neutral at first as you could get sucked into another control situation that would be easy to accept because it "feels" good. I am ordering "Crisis of Conscience" today on Amazon (can't find it at any new or used book stores). Think back to when you first came in...was your life situation a mess, were you depressed over something? It sure seems that jws find people in crises who are looking for a way out and the "community" first shown to them is quite supportive and attractive.

  i am very angry.

  i visited the active talk site tonight, identified myself as restrangled as most of you know who i am, and skally referred to me as "the dog".

  i have been a member for just about 2 years, contributed cash to those in need without question, supported those in any way i could and my husband has done the same.. i am beyond hurt..i.thought myself and my husband had supported your cause......to be called "the dog" by one one of your most prominent members lets me know we don't count for squat no matter what we do...much like the witnesses.. thanks skally...you made my day today.. r.. .
