  Honestly, Did You "Care" So Much About The "Friends"?

  there are a lot of people who have complained of "no love" in their congregations.

  i'm wondering if they gave of themselves, in reality, if they look back.

  as an elder, i tried to "be there" when someone was in need but i must admit that i didn't always want to have to listen to a person's problems or a families' issues or some of the most ridiculous complaints, you could imagine.. were you really there for your brothers and sisters?

  Okay, if GB members are practicing "homosexuality" or having "affairs" or having "kept" relationships there should be SOMEONE who was involved and others who know. If there are no testimonies or facts or dates then it's just an "urban legend". If it is true then the burden (which is great) is upon those who know the facts and it is really their responsibility to shine the light on activities that those GB condemn.

  where to go from here?

  some of you on here know that i have been fading for sometime now and stopped going to meetings for quite a while but the past month or so i have returned.i am still just not sure whether at the end jws will be found to be gods people or not.. well today i attended the early sunday meeting eager to try and do what i still think could be right and despite the doubts i have about the watchtower.. now to be fair a number of people came and spoke to me said hello and stuff.the majority just didnt bother.but what really got me today was a number of people who i thought were my friends were just hateful.i even held the door open for one of them and they just were so hatefull and gave me funny looks as if i had the plague or something.i left feeling like this is no diffrent to any other religion.

  some nice and other people not so nice.all i could think of on the way home was so much for jehovah never forgetting what you have done for him.im starting to wonder whether the bible is really gods word after all.. i just feel im at a fork in the road and dont know what to do for the best..

  Stupid elder, bird crap

  after reading tms's thread on elders appointed by holy spirit, i thought of a really weird example of how stupid some elders are.. i was driving one day in service and was going to the door with an elder that i was not particularly fond of.

  as we approached the house, a bird flew over and crapped on the shoulder of his white shirt.

  he continued and went to the door and gave a presentation!

  Witnesses who take advantage of government programs

  i'd like your take on jdubs who take advantage of government programs, despite having to lie to do it.. my mil & i were talking about some local jdubs who are on "welfare" and get "food stamps", despite having the means.

  they ride around in new suvs, live in nice houses, but (obviously) fudge the numbers with social security in order to get benefits.. why do some jdubs take advantage of government?

  is it becuase they feel "entitled" to cheat the great satan?

  Eve, Queen Elizabeth 1st, Ben Franklin, Leonardo De Vinci, King Herod, those 3 wise ass men, Josephus, Katherine the Great, Sacajawea, Eisenhower's mother, All the CEO's of the WT, all my relatives from the beginning of time (sort of like the Osmond's on Oprah plus), Thomas Edison, Gengas Kahn (did you know he had more decendants spread around the world than anyone else...even topping Jack Kennedy?---just kidding about the Kennedy part). those just off the top of my small head.

  Allow Me to Introduce Myself

  hello.. my parents converted to jehovah's witnesses when they were pretty much newlyweds and raised their children as such.

  i was 100% in it until a series of events happened to me as a young adult that ultimately led to my deciding it's simply not worth it.

  i haven't had a relationship that could pass for normal with my jw family ever since.

  Why do you sign your dead body over when you go to Bethel?

  this is in response to the thread about the supposed suicide of a bethelite in 1995.. in 1970 when i went to bethel we signed a form stating that "if we died while at bethel the wathtower bible and tract society had the rights to our body.

  yes, we thought it strange at the time but as a twenty year old you didn't think much about it.. i know of two brothers who killed themselfs while at bethel and two others who tried end their lives.

  my guess is people have been killing themselfs at bethel long before i ever got there.

  Skeeter, Do you have proof of this?????? They legally COULD do this....it's THEIR place but wow what an ethical step into hell. They can have my dead body but I don't want them watching me take a dump (not that it's any big show anyway).

  Dearest Layla, Welcome. I don't think everyone posting here is necessarily anti-JW. I figure time and information (like the internet) will expose everything. I just can't see any one particular person trying to destroy them (other then Silent Lambs.org). They'd just be painted as mental or disgruntled. That's how all Corporations handle whistle blowers. I do kind of wonder what the "campaign strategy" section on this site is all about. What I do understand is your grief. Being raised as JW and having family in is very much like herpes. There's no cure and it keeps popping up when you least expect it. xoxoxo
