The king james bible.Even when i was following the tower i used the nwt at the meetings and studied at home with the king james bible cause i have always found the new world translation to be plain and boring and always suspected it was doctored.

"This change shows how close the end we REALLY are..............."
by Warlock inaccording to one of my relatives, the co said, on a recent visit, that the offer of "everlasting life" will be brief and to the point.. when street witnessing, if people refuse, do not chase them.
in the door to door work, if someone is not interested, do not persist, just leave.. according to my relative, these changes really show "how close to the end we really are".. why is it that every change is interpreted as "this change shows how close to the end we really are"?.
i have come to realize that the wts are masters at jerking people around, and i really hate it!.

Convention time!
by jacethespace inhow many of you attended a convention at a stadium and at the end of the loooonng weekend .
wheres that scripture which says "let another person praise you and not your own mouth" somewhere in proverbs,i guess though it doesnt apply to the governing body as per usual.. i was always suspicious of these boasting sessions at conventions and thought it was nothing but hyped up advertising for the tower.i was also suspicious of all those donation boxes all around the stadium at conventions.a christndom church has one box at the back of the hall as well as plate passing the tower has a box at the hall and hudreds scattered everywhere at a convention/assembly.not much diffrence to me.. it was funny how there was a lot of difficulty to leave the car parks at the end of the day with some cursing others for being in the way and having to que up.then we would leave and remark on being back "in the world".oh no all those mad drivers everywhere now we are out of " paradise" dashing about..

Watchtower teachings
by jacethespace ina while ago i did a thread about the nephillim and was wondering whether the fallen angels were physical beings.. some here mentioned the watchtower reasoning about how the fallen angels who had children with the women [ in genesis 6] took on human bodies then discarded them when god sent the flood over the earth.. i thought about this and looked at the scriptures and realised that there is no scripture to back the watchtowers reasoning up on " the sons of god" taking fleshly bodies.then discarding them in the flood.this shows how the tower has an "answer for everything" mentally.. is there any other beliefs that the watchtower has gotten us to believe in which cant be backed up by scripture?.
while i was studying i was intrested to know what happened to enoch.in genesis 5:24- and enoch walked with god and he was not for god took him.i was told that god put enoch to sleep to spare him from the wicked around him that would have killed him.although there is no evidence either in the scriptures for this.it just shows how the watchtower interprets things for themselves..

Peoples temple cult
by jacethespace ini just watched a documentary about the peoples temple cult and was suprised to find there is some intresting similarites between there attitude beliefs and the watchtower society.. they began as an ordinary group intrested in morals and god and jim jones gradually manipulated them to the point of murder and suicide.. he would reprimand people in front of the whole congregation playing on peoples fears and guilt to the point where sometimes he would encourage others to hit a " wrongdoer".as he got more control over the people they feared to leave and anyone that spoke about leaving was turned in by there own family, hmm that sounds familar.
jim jones feared some that got out and tried to shield the congregation from bad press which is why around 900 were " encouraged " to leave america and go to guyana to what they called jonestown.he told his members that they couldnt leave and that the world would harm them if they ever left.. at one time he passed around a cup to drink and then told the congregation they had drank poison then after they panicked he told them it wasnt true he was just " testing to see how loyal they would be to him".. when they moved to jonestown they set up there own paradise.they grew there own food and made themselves completly independant from the outside world.they built there own homes and would have no outside information except a loudspeaker which jim jones spoke over and used recorded speechs on even throughout the night.he was telling them that the whole world was coming to turn on them and kill them and take away what they had.. when they said they wanted to leave he would say they were committing " blasphemy" by leaving and they would change there mind.. sadly at the end they encouraged mass suicide and took with them a visiting congressman.. paradise quickly turned into chaos and a nightmare and it got me thinking about the wachtowers utopian dream of paradise on earth.if they watchtower cant get things right now how the hell are they going to be capable of governing the whole planet in " the new system.. this isnt the same documentary but heres a link to one documentary about the peoples temple.

When they said they wanted to leave he would say they were committing " blasphemy" by leaving and they would change there mind.
Sadly at the end they encouraged mass suicide and took with them a visiting congressman.
Paradise quickly turned into chaos and a nightmare and it got me thinking about the wachtowers utopian dream of paradise on earth. If they watchtower cant get things right now how the hell are they going to be capable of governing the whole planet in " the new system.

Note the beggining of this docu it says " nobody joins a cult no one joins something they think is going to hurt them".

This is terrible another bad apple in the kingdom hall that was overlooked by the elders and so called Jehovah who we were always told would root out evil out of the " truth".

HOW can a Jdub accept BLOOD FRACTIONS?? hmm?
by martinwellborne ini thought the main thing with the blood issue was that it was to be viewed from god's point of view.
not that it would be up to individual choice and conscience.
my point that i am trying to get to is this, how can a jdub accept blood fractions if they want to view blood in the same light as god would.. am i making this clear?
-
jacethespace
Makes perfect sense to me now
Just after i was baptized and i recieved my blood card i thought carefully about blood fractions and decided not to accept them
Well the elder came round to see me and told me they were concerned that i hadnt accepted fractions and suggested i should change my card
So much for making a decision based on conscience!
