My conscience
by civicsi00 ini've only been on this forum for a short while, but i love it here!
i have a question for everyone.. first of all, about a year and a half ago, i got on the internet to search for some jw forums.
i didn't find any right away, but what i did find was information about the wt and all of its inconsistencies.

Thank you all for your responses!
I've been seriously weighing my decision about what to do, and there are just so many different ways to approach it. I have talked to my mom carefully and casually, but maybe she is better off inside the WT. My dad passed away 7 years ago, and all she has is the WT. But if the tower ever fell, I will be there for her and everyone else. I've also spoken to my in-laws but they're pretty hard-headed. And they haven't turned me in to the elders, so I'm not worried about them. They just won't reason with simple logic.
I will take Changelings advice and stay quiet in front of the "brothers". They may seem sincere, but they're also whistleblowers. I'm not ready for that yet, but I know it's coming.
I especially liked isnrblog's response. Dude, if I could go out while I'm on top, I would, but I don't think I can stomach going to the KH enough to plant those seeds. I wouldn't make it very far anyway, since we're not supposed to stray from the printed material (LOL).
I will say that after reading the Bible on my own, I see things in a different light. I never understood why half a scripture was for the anointed, and the other half was for the great crowd. Jesus kept it simple. So why can't we? Thank you all again, it's nice to see so much support!! I don't understand why JWs are so damn loyal to the organization, and I guess I never will. For the time being, I'm going to stay inactive so that I can plant some seeds of doubt in my family. If I ever get DF, I will definitely keep you guys posted!

Hello everyone!
I've only been on this forum for a short while, but I love it here! I have a question for everyone.
First of all, about a year and a half ago, I got on the internet to search for some JW forums. I didn't find any right away, but what I did find was information about the WT and all of its inconsistencies. Ever since then, I've been fighting a battle inside my mind. I know now that the WT is NOT God's organization. But it's a constant battle. I grew up as a JW all my life (third generation), but I was not the type to "seek out more privileges". I was never fully brainwashed BUT the fear that I was going to die at Armageddon was instilled in me ever since I was little. I did get baptized in 2002, but have been fading for over a year now from my local KH. I bought CoC, and I'm halfway through it. It's a great source of information.
Anyways, well, let me get to the point. I'm currently inactive, and I don't want to diassociate because 99% of my family is still in. My conscience, however, does not allow me to continue withholding all of the information I know about the WT. Do any/all of you feel that way? I WANT to tell my mom everything I know, and I've started to, but I'm afraid how far I can go. Every once in a while, a "brother" will tell me to continue going to the meetings because that is our only means of salvation. I WANT to tell him what I know, and everyone ELSE, but that's only going to mean that I'll be dragged into a judicial committee. How do you guys cope with wanting to tell everyone everything?
Thanks for any advice...

The Earthly Hope for the thief on the cross?
by Honesty insince jesus died first and the curtain in the temple was torn in two did the thief share in the earthly or the heavenly hope?.
so the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other one who had been crucified with him.
when they came to jesus, they did not break his legs since they saw that he was already dead.

It always amazes me to read that account in the Bible. This man just happened to be crucified next to Jesus, expresses his faith in him, and boom! Jesus states that he will be with him in Paradise. Why does the WT make it so hard for someone to prove that he/she has faith in Jesus? Wherever this man ends up, earth, heaven, whatever, rest assure that he is well taken care of.

I think the noose just tightened a bit.
by 5go inwe had an interesting local needs.. first it clearly stated if you are not making all the meetings you will not make it in to the new system period no exceptions.
they twisted the story of the red sea to make an example.
saying you can not disobey once, or else you be left stuck in the bottom of the red sea.. from now on the elders will be making shepherding calls on those that are not attending regularly.. also, it was stated that if you know of any not attending regularly.

Whatever happened to 2 or 3 gathering together in Jesus' name, and Jesus would be there?
Oh, right. I need to go back and re-read the KM for 2007 September...
Hey, so is this serious? I haven't gone back to the KH in several months, going on a year. I've never received a shepherding call, but if they do decide to come by, I'd like to have my material ready (COC, old WT, etc.)...

"Wake Up" tract from 1975
by cabasilas ini'm doing "winter cleaning" today and came across an old tract that was distributed at a phoenix assembly back in 1975. i was an ardent jw (then at watchtower farms) and was attending this assembly.
i remember leaving out the north side of the convention complex and seeing the people outside with their tracts.
this was one called "wake up!

Awesome, this is great! Although the tract is old, the information is timeless and priceless.

Who else has zero friends?

Since my wife and I stopped going to the KH, we have like practically 0 friends too. Apparently if you don't go to the KH, you're not worth associating with. BUT we have found some worldly friends who are awesome, they're very reliable and cool to hang out with. They don't smoke, some don't even drink. Growing up I never stopped making worldly friends in school, and I can honestly say that my best friend who has stuck by me through everything, has never even been a Witness. I was always told not to make friends with the world, but I never saw that they were all bad.

jw's view of dress code for women
by megaflower inthe dress code that the society imposes on the women has been a thorn in my side ( manner of speaking).
theses old men dictate how a women should dress and i do mean "a dress".
i can remember when i lived in connecticut and the temp would be in single digits and when it came time for field service you must put on that dress.
-
civicsi00
My wife has always felt this way about the dress code too. I told her she could wear business casual pants but she won't because she would stand out too much (and I'm pretty sure they would take her to the back room and show her what the proper dress code is, LOL). We used to go to the spanish congregations and I don't know about everyone else, but the mexicans are always staring. We're also of mexican descent, so we can talk about them, dammit... lol
