I'm going to let the JWs' & others in my area know.
by LouBelle ini'm taking action.
since the un & pedophile issues haven't even been heard of by the witnesses in south africa i am going to get a pamphlet drawn up about these two issues and i'm going from door to door (well actually post box to post box) and slip them in all the homes in my area - i've inlisted my mum.
(my mum makes me laugh - she asks if we are going to wear latex gloves - bless her).

That's awesome!
I've been trying to decide how I'm going to "spread the word" myself. Everyone should be made aware of what the WTS is guilty of. If they have the TRUTH, then the TRUTH shouldn't have to hide behind a large corporation, nor would it require "theocratic warfare".

Damage Control
by sandy ini'm going to the assembly tomorrow to see my 13 yr old niece take the big plunge.

I've seen children as young as 8 get baptized. But I can't see the WTS approving the baptizing of babies. Although in my opinion anyone at or around 8 years of age is still a baby.
I'll never understand it... And my mom has noticed this too, and she doesn't think it's right. But she still thinks it's "God's Organization"...
My youngest sister is 15 now, and she tells me that she feels so much pressure from the family to get baptized. But I've spoken to her and relieved her that Jesus didn't even get baptized until he was 30! So I try to comfort her and tell her that she shouldn't be in a rush.

JWs: Biggest Turnover Rate of Members! "Masked churn" rate of 2/3rds!!
by Seeker4 inan article just out this afternoon said the following.
note especially the second paragraph about jws: .
for some groups, their relatively steady number of adherents over the years hides a remarkable amount of coming and going.

Aw dang it, you beat me to the punch! I saw the article on yahoo and wanted to post it...
What a way to describe the turnover rate..lol.. "masked churn"...
From my experience, I see a large number of hispanics/mexicans join the JW's simply because they can be some of the most uninformed people you run into. They rarely have a computer at home, and if they do, they won't do any kind of research on the religion. The town where I grew up has grown from three congregations to five just in the last couple of years.

Egibi Business Tables, The Watchtower ignores fundamental Evidence!
by VM44 inthe egibi banking family lived in babylon continuously through the time period of the reigns of the neo-bablylonian kings.. many of their buisiness records for have survived and provide a detailed description of how business was transacted by the babylonians circa 600 bce.. the discorvery of the egibi records is not recent.
they were found in the later half of the 19th century and are mentioned in many books and articles.. for example, google books has this book, hours with the bible, or, the scriptuers in the light of modern knowlege, by cunningham geikie.
that was published 1892, that mentions the egibi records and how they provide .

It's not surprising to me anymore that they discard what they know will expose them. The evidence is there, but they will refuse to face facts at any cost.

Some questions that I didnt find the answer as a JW Part 1
by tooktheredpill inhaving been raised in the truth, i thought that i had all the answers in the watchtower publications.
but as i started really reading the bible without filters, a lot of stuff started to appear that made no sense to me.
1) genesis 2:2: and by the seventh day god came to the completion of his work that he had made, and he proceeded to rest on the seventh day from all his work that he had made.. .

Damn, these are some pretty interesting questions!
Why did all the "noble" men of the bible always end up doing something horrible in the eyes of God?
(And I don't need to mention all of them, but some examples are David, Solomon, Samson, and there was a king that started with an "M" but I can't remember right now, he was the one that got the whole nation of Israel worshipping some false god, and then repented and received forgiveness...)

Funny- I was getting ready to post a topic about this particular website earlier this week, but I didn't have time.
Whenever I first encountered anything "apostate" on the internet, I encountered this website and the one run by "e-watchman" or whatever. I was pretty shocked at first, but then the more I read about it, the more I saw that most of those members support the idea that the Watchtower is fulfilling so many prophecies, and that they are the modern-day Jerusalem (or some crap like that).
Anyways, I saw through the crap months later and found other websites that simply pointed out quotes from the decades of Watchtowers/Awakes and saw that the WTBTS is nothing more than a huge publishing company, operating without any kind of Godly direction.

Armagedon survivor =If you miss meetings?? Did you have a choice??
by Witness 007 inawake april 2008 p.20 "what does god expect of you?
" "......the bible does not prescribe a set number of hours that we must reserve for worship each week.......does god expect us to live fanatically {is the answer yes!
} excluding all activeties from our live except worship?
-
civicsi00
That's funny because I grew up with the same guilt trip about missing an "important" announcement if I didn't go to all the meetings.
If there was such an important announcement, I would think the elders would be the first ones to know in advance...and somehow it would leak out before the actual announcement...

Appalling Mind Control Comment from CO
by betweenworlds ini just came across this comment by someone from a group i belong to .
we just had the visit of our co...his wife made this comment to me:.
"'as i was reading the very powerful articles in the last public issue of the wt with study articles...i couldn't help but imagine that the brothers are waving a goodbye to people!'...

I'm not afraid that there's going to be a punch bowl of Kool-aid at the KH...I stopped going already to the KH... but what I'm afraid of is that all of the loyal followers may get some detailed, specific instructions on creating this Kool-aid and giving it to their "apostate" or "lingering" family members... I could see that happening...
The way things are going, with the GB tightening up the R/F, there's all sorts of insane possibilities.
For example, one of the things that ALL JW's are waiting for is the end of the preaching work. Once God (a.k.a. the GB) orders that the preaching work is complete, who KNOWS what sort of "special work" all JW's will be involved in next... including providing that Kool-aid to EVERYONE...
I'm just saying... the possibility is there...

Proof WBTS is downgrading 1914
by yesidid inmaybe they're keeping the doctrine but they are not writing about it as much in the watchtower.. below are statistics from their 07 cd showing how many times 1914 was mentioned in the watchtower for each year 1950 to 2006 .
i have divided the years 1950 2006 into segments of eight excepting for the last, which is nine.. on the side i have the average for those years.
notice they have gone from 88.87 a year to 24.44. .

Damn, they are trying to downplay it.. Although I can't see them giving it up entirely. The whole JW message is to preach that Jesus has been reigning since 1914..
If they threw that doctrine out, then what would they have left?
