if you are familiar with the wbts literature, you are familiar with their version of the story of noah.
it's mostly the same as other christian versions except for one detail.. in only one scripture in the bible (2 peter 2:5), noah is called a preacher of righteousness.
this is the only scripture in the entire 66 books that mentions him in this way.
I'm truly shocked! I checked other translations off of biblegateway.com and then I check the purple interlinear and sure enough, the WT translated it to fit their doctrine!!
I know it says that Noah was a preacher of righteousness, but it doesn't say he was a preacher of "impending doom"!!

i talked to a dub friend of mine who said they had a new "it's a personal choice, but jehovah will kill you if you do it" article about vasectomies.
basically, the reasoning is supposedly that since jehovah gave us our reproductive organs, tampering with them is wrong if not medically necessary.
I had it done, and told very few people about it. In the end, it was my decision because there's no biblical support for it. I don't think any elders ever found out about it, though.
what has been taught as armageddon is actually the great tribulation.
the agenda for a "man-made" paradise will come about during this time.
of course, the jws will, as always, be told that it is being "divinely directed" and believe that without question.

i'm at the beginning of putting a package together regarding the wts and i'd like your opinion on which topics i should include.
basically, this would be a package for those who have family or friends in the borg, but who you think might listen to reason if it was presented in the right fashion.
it's not going to be a huge package, because i don't want to overwhelm anyone, but i want the information to be precise enough that it would stop and make them think.. so far, i'm thinking that i'd like to touch on the following:.
-You could also present the scriptures that talk about Michael, "one of the chief princes", the archangel and how there's no connection between him and Jesus (finish by reading Hebrews 13:8)
-Present to them the quote from The Finished Mystery book, where it states that Russell was still managing the Watchtower after he was dead.
-Also, read to them Matthew 28:19, and how Jesus mandated everyone be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, NOT the Holy Spirit-directed organization.
-Ask them to prove, using the Bible only, how Jesus picked the WT in 1919.
-Read to them Galatians 1:8, where it talks about how if anyone speaks of a different "good news", that that person should be cursed.
(I know most of the stuff above may make them "shut down", but it's worth a try)

an appellate court today denied a request to intervene in the case of a jehovah's witness facing child molestation charges.
I can't wait to see the outcome of this trial. I hope it damages the bOrg's reputation in some way..
i was hoping for some help on proving that a paradise earth is in fact a true teaching.
i've only found 3 that use the word "paradise" - but not sure if it refers to an earthly paradise.. thanks!.

When I first realized how weak the WT's arguments for a paradise earth were (which was just a few months ago), I was shocked! It seems they pull from old testament scriptures to new testament scriptures to try to string together a reality. I read the section in the Reasoning book, and I was no longer convinced.
Now there are certain scriptures that speak of a "new heavens, new earth", so my personal belief is that this Earth will be destroyed and a new one created. Why spend 1,000 years cleaning it up when you can create a brand new one? Maybe it's just my own imperfect human reasoning. I also think about the scripture where the pharisees were asking Jesus about the woman who had been married 7 times (to each of the brothers).. and in the resurrection, who would she be married to? Jesus stated that no one gets married in the resurrection, and that they'll have bodies like angels. So bodies like angels.. meaning invisible bodies? Doesn't that mean we'll be in heaven, for even a short time? I really don't know, I'm just throwing this out there.
After I realized that the WT's arguments were weak, I didn't care anymore. I simply want to live my life free from the WT's spiritual bondage. It shouldn't matter worrying about where we're going as long as we make it there...

these claim to speak in god's name, but most of their utterances are not based on the scriptures, and what they have to say is basically worthless.
People still "in" fall for this crap because they've been told for DECADES that if they leave the organization, then they're abandoning God Himself.
Fear is the only thing keeping these people from thinking critically. Those who have done so in the past, do so at the risk of losing all of their family and friends.
I have already read that article in the April magazine, and it makes me sick inside...
