Thinking on sin, whether this sin be taken from a theistic or a-theistic perspective
by gubberningbody inneeds at least two things, it would seem.. 1. free will.
2. a discrete responsible self (tied into 1).
3. memory.

The question is regarding "guilt".
You have not defined "guilt". Guilt as emotional response? Guilt as external approbation?
Without personal memory there is no guilt as emotional response (except as habituated hormonal imbalance, which is obviously not what you are referring to). This seems to be most on point from the given context.

Use only your Bible and tell me if you can answer this
by dgp ini saw a similar post on this board once.
but i wonder if anyone can use only the bible and answer the following questions:.
why do trees and animals die, since they didn't sin?.

Our Salvation is based on God;s grace through Jesus.
Why? Why is God's grace limited to passing through Jesus? Why is God so limited?
Why does God need a ransom for Adam's sin? Why is he passing on the sin of the father to the son, which I understand is wrong? Why is God so limited, and why does He choose to break his own rule?
Why does God need a ransom for anything? Why is he so limited? If he "is love", if he is all powerful, if he can create a universe, if he can put all physical and moral law into play, why must he be bound by a balancing sacrifice of a perfect man for a perfect man?

Our Southern Friends- Are you Pissed about the Oil Spill? I Know I Am ...... !
by flipper in......... and i live out here in northern california !
i mean , they go to all that humungous labor, build a huge box to put over the oil gushing out and wham 5,000 ft. deep it gets clogged with ice crystals.
now they are talking about a couple other alternatives in the news- all the while today haliburton, bp, and other reps are meeting with federal officials getting into a pissing match and fight over who is responsible for the spill ?

Still waiting for the neo-con quasi-Objectivist "why should we hold BP to account" viewpoint. Other than JD. I know you're out there.
It may be that the CONSEQUENCES of certain actions, even when thought of as low RISK, should be prevented.
And here's a lovely example of how the frigging tree-hugging, flaming liberal, doomsaying elite crazies might be worth listening to once in a while.
PS - oil companies do not buy leases they think of as worthless. Buying useless leases is not the point. Not developing leases they have was the questions. Unless I missed something.

Are you really drawn to a God who wants to kill you?
by hamsterbait inthe question a jw will ask at the doors is often.
"have you ever wondered why the world is in such turmoil?".
of course their "answer" is that a snake told a naked lady to eat some fruit 6 000 years ago, and as a result god views us all as unworthy of life.

Not any more. I overcame my self-loathing and need to be controlled by a micromanager in the sky.

Only OTC these days.
I was on SSRIs for a good five years, but completed that part of treatment more than five years ago. They did their job.

Taquitos with guacamole (mine is the best, of course, it's based on my mom's recipe).
Then chocolate. Lots of it. All the time.

My experience in grade school in southern California (before the 70's):
One girl took every single opportunity to spontaneously scream at me how I was going to die because I wasn't allowed a blood transfusion - my parents hated me because they wanted me to die.
This went on over two whole school years - at recess, before school, after school, at lunch, from next to me, from across the hall or cafeteria. Once she had a crowd on onlookers she would start in how stupid and wierd I was because I didn't celebrate holidays or birthdays.
There were other bullies, but this is the one that focused on the JW issue. She was short, slightly overweight (at a time when this was unusual in the US), had short black hair, I believe her name started with an "L", she was Catholic.
I suspect she was reacting to what her parents read about the RCC in the Watchtower.
